manakkavalai Edhum indri unakkadimaiyE purindhu: Without any worry in my mind, I would like to serve You
vagaikku manu nUl vidhangaL thavaRAdhE: in accordance with, and not deviating from, the rules laid down by scriptures covering various morals.
vagaippadi manOradhangaL thogaippadiyinAl ilangi: My several desires about this service must be fulfilled.
mayakkamaRa vEdhamungkoL poruL nAdi: I must seek the inner meaning of all scriptures without any doubt.
vinaikkuriya pAdhagangaL thugaiththu: I must shun all sinful activities which lead to bad Karma.
uvagaiyAl ninaindhu: I must contemplate You with pleasure
miguththa poruL AgamangaL muRaiyAlE: as formulated in the Vedha AgamAs (scriptural instructions).
vegutchi thanaiyE thurandhu: I must totally give up anger in my pursuit.
kaLippinudanE nadandhu: My conduct must be one of happy discharge of my duties.
migukku munaiyE vaNanga varavENum: For me to worship, You, superior to who is the Supreme, must manifest before me graciously!
manaththil varuvOnE endrun adaikkalamadhAga vandhu: "At the very thought You come to our heart" - so spoke those who sought refuge in You;
malarppadham adhE paNindha munivOrgaL: those were the sages who bowed at Your lotus feet;
vararkkum imaiyOrgaL enbar thamakku manamE irangi: for the sake of the sages, the blessed ones and the DEvAs, You came down with a lot of compassion
marutti varu sUrai vendra munaivElA: and conquered the intimidating asura, SUran, with Your sharp spear!
thinaippuna munE nadandhu kuRakkodiyaiyE maNandhu: Once You went walking to the millet-field and eventually married VaLLi, the damsel of the KuRavas.
jegaththai muzhudhALa vandha periyOnE: You came to rule the entire universe, Oh Great One!
sezhiththa vaLamE siRandha malarp pozhilgaLE niRaindha: There is plenty of fertility and flowery groves
thiruppazhani vAzha vandha perumALE.: around Pazhani, which is Your abode, Oh Great One!
