New Delhi, May 29, 2025 (ANI): In regard to Pakistan sponsored terrorism, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on May 29 said that today Pakistan has realized that running the business of terrorism is not cost-effective. He said, “Running the business of terrorism is not cost-effective. Today, Pakistan has realised that it has to pay a heavy price for it. We have redesigned and redefined both India's strategy and response against terrorism. We have recalibrated our engagement and scope of dialogue with Pakistan. Now, whenever there will be talks, it will be only on terrorism and PoK. I believe that the people of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) are our own, part of our family. We are committed to the resolution of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" and we have full faith that our brothers who are geographically and politically separated from us today, will also return to the mainstream of India someday or the other...”

00:00It is not cost-effective to run a terrorist business, but you may have to pay a heavy price for it.
00:09This has been assumed by Pakistan today.
00:16We have recalibrated our engagement with Pakistan and the scope of dialogue.
00:24Now, whenever there will be a dialogue, it will be on terrorism, POK, and not on any other issue.
00:35The people of Pak-occupied Kashmir are our own, they are a part of our family, they are a part of us.
00:41I am fully committed to the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's One India, One India.
00:49And I am fully confident that our brothers, who are different from us politically and emotionally,
00:57will return to India with their self-respect, the voice of the soul, and with a clear conscience.
01:19Director Sameer V. Kamath, Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. N.S. Raja Subramani,
01:26T. Sanju Puri, President, CII,
01:30T. Baba Kalyani, Founder, President, SIDM,
01:34T. Chandrajeet Banerjee, Director General, CII,
01:39Industry leaders, young entrepreneurs,
01:43my media friends, ladies and gentlemen,
01:49I was ordered by the Confederation of Indian Industry, i.e. CII,
01:57to visit your CII President, Mr. Sanjay Puri and T. Baba Kalyani.
02:05I said that since it is the order of two great personalities, I should definitely go to this CII.
02:13And today I am present among all of you in this CII.
02:18And coming to this CII, I am truly happy to see your enthusiasm and enthusiasm.
02:27First of all, I congratulate all of you on becoming the fourth largest economy in the world.
02:42I remember that last time when I came among all of you, our economy was at number 5 in the world.
02:53But today when I have come among you, I am congratulating all of you on becoming the fourth largest economy in our economy.
03:04I think there is no need to say anything further.
03:07Next time when I come among all of you, I will come among all of you with a new congratulation.
03:16This is my wish, this is our desire.
03:21And I do not just wish, but you will do it and show it. This is my firm belief.
03:32Even before this, I have had the opportunity to come among all of you many times.
03:36And every time when I come among all of you, it is your energy that takes you and the country forward.
03:45Seeing your dedication, I am not only impressed, but also very excited.
03:54Friends, CII is not just an organization.
04:00It is the powerhouse that has given shape to India's industrial spirit.
04:09To connect lakhs of enterprises across the country, to direct the policy framework,
04:15and to increase global competitiveness, CII's role has been very important.
04:22CII does not just represent business, but I believe it represents a vision.
04:30And that vision is India as a global manufacturing and innovation hub.
04:39Friends, everyone present here is a symbol of Indian enterprise.
04:47You have named this summit as Business Summit 2025.
04:52But I consider this to be a summit of India's strength, resilience, and self-reliance.
04:59All of you have worked like an engine in India's journey to self-reliance.
05:07You have worked like a powerful engine.
05:11Friends, you have named this summit as Building Trust and India First.
05:17First of all, I congratulate CII for choosing this theme.
05:23And this theme is of just four words.
05:30But it has a very deep and extensive meaning.
05:35It is a subject whose body is small, but the soul is very vast.
05:42Friends, I will start my speech with this theme.
05:47And you all know that building trust is a very important thing.
05:53Trust is not a technical term.
05:56It is an emotion.
05:58And it is an experience that starts from our personal life and goes to international relations.
06:07It is this trust that makes us human.
06:11Family, society, economy, and nation.
06:16There is trust at every level that connects us.
06:20The most precious things in our lives, I consider trust to be the most important of them all.
06:31And I am not just saying this.
06:34I am sharing my experience with you all.
06:38There are many occasions in our lives when we may not have anything,
06:44but we have a trustworthy person with whom we feel that we are complete and perfect.
06:53Whether it is family, society, office, or anywhere else.
07:01Even if a person does not have that ability,
07:05even if he does not have enough knowledge,
07:09even if he does not have enough skills,
07:11even if he does not have enough knowledge,
07:13but if he is trustworthy,
07:15then you have a very big asset.
07:22Friends, if our sages and human beings have given this example that
07:28the three worlds are our body, our family,
07:33then in a way they have talked about the trust between the human being and the soul.
07:41King Dasarath said,
07:44If there is no promise on life and death,
07:48then this promise is a sign of trust.
07:51Once you give a promise to someone,
07:55the other person accepts your promise only because he has trust in you.
08:03That you will never break that promise.
08:08Why only India?
08:10If you talk about the development of the entire human civilization,
08:17then trust will be seen as a key component.
08:21In the beginning, when the development of the villages,
08:24the development of agriculture,
08:26the development of cities,
08:28the development of industries,
08:30it was based on the dynamics of human relations.
08:33Then came the nation-states,
08:36and new relations were formed between them,
08:40whose main basis was international trust.
08:45But in today's changing times, we are seeing
08:50that in today's international scenario,
08:53that important factor of trust is seen to be decreasing.
08:57After the Second World War,
08:59even if the world was divided into two poles,
09:03there was still a kind of stability somewhere.
09:08There was a kind of predictability somewhere.
09:13But now, in the last few decades,
09:17especially after the 1990s,
09:20there is a different kind of fluidity in international relations.
09:24On one hand, the mutual relations between the nations are breaking,
09:29or are becoming weak.
09:30On the other hand,
09:32some new equations are being formed.
09:36Today, there is an atmosphere of uncertainty in the world.
09:41Conflicts are going on everywhere.
09:44There can be many reasons for this.
09:47But the fundamental reason for today's international uncertainty
09:52is a lack of trust.
09:57On the contrary,
10:00if we look at our country,
10:03we are trying to build a strong environment of trust
10:07between communities and economic segments.
10:12This is what we are trying to do.
10:15And with these efforts, we have achieved great success.
10:19I would like to give you some examples.
10:24As an example,
10:25I would like to tell you about GST,
10:28that is, Goods and Services Tax.
10:31A revolutionary reform
10:34in which we have not only improved the ease of doing business,
10:39but also strengthened the relationship between the center and the state,
10:43in the sense of cooperative federalism.
10:48This is not just a tax system,
10:51but a national economic integration model.
10:55This is built on the foundation of trust between the center and the state.
11:01Today, the center, state and union territories
11:06are equally on the GST platform while strengthening the federal trust.
11:12Another example of trust building is UPI,
11:16that is, Unified Payments Interface.
11:19Today, in India, in the field of digital transactions,
11:21UPI has emerged as a game-changer.
11:26This is not just a technological success,
11:30but also a behavioural transformation,
11:34where ordinary citizens and big business
11:38are trusting a transparent and secure system.
11:43Today, many countries in the world are trying to replicate this model.
11:48This is a proof of India's digital leadership.
11:53There are many such examples,
11:56where we have proven cross-sectoral inclusive growth to be knockable.
12:02In fact, we have also presented it as a sustainable model to the world.
12:08This is the result that today,
12:11when instability and economic slowdown at the global level
12:15has become a situation,
12:18our country has become the world's fastest-growing major economy
12:23with its full energy and synergy.
12:32Friends, when I am in front of you,
12:36I feel proud to say that
12:40our country is under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi
12:43and has become the world's fourth-largest economy.
12:47This is not just a matter of increasing the size of the economy.
12:52This is a matter of the trust of the world on India and on itself.
13:00Recently, there was a report by Moody's.
13:04You must have seen it.
13:06That report also highlights
13:08how India is not only reducing global disruptions by its strong domestic growth drivers
13:14such as private consumption, manufacturing capacity and infrastructure development,
13:24but is also continuously demonstrating better.
13:28Today, we are among those countries
13:31whose global confidence in economic resilience and policy stability
13:35is continuously increasing.
13:41This is not just a journey of development for India,
13:45but it is a journey of trust for India.
13:50Friends, as a Defence Minister,
13:53I am very happy to say that
13:56the defence sector of India is also playing an important role in this journey.
14:02In the last decade,
14:05India's defence sector has reached a new level
14:10due to the many initiatives taken by the government.
14:17Ten to eleven years ago,
14:20our defence production used to be approximately 43,000 crores.
14:24Today, it has reached a record figure of 1,46,000 crores.
14:32And for all of us,
14:36it is a matter of satisfaction and pride
14:40that the private sector is contributing more than 32,000 crores.
14:45For this, I congratulate all of you.
14:48Along with this, our defence export,
14:51which ten years ago used to be less than 1,000 crores,
14:56approximately 600-700 crores,
14:59has today reached a record figure of more than 24,000 crores.
15:08Today, not just weapons,
15:11but our systems, subsystems, components and services
15:17have also reached more than 100 countries in the world.
15:21Friends, today, more than 16,000 MSMEs are connected to the defence sector in India.
15:26More than 16,000 MSMEs are connected to the defence sector.
15:32These small companies have become the backbone of our supply chain.
15:38And they are not only strengthening our journey of self-reliance,
15:43but they are also providing jobs to lakhs of people.
15:46Today, we are not just building fighter planes or missile systems,
15:52but we are also preparing for new age warfare technology.
15:57Today, our home-grown system has proved to the world
16:04that we have the power to penetrate any enemy's shield.
16:16Friends, you saw how we first destroyed terrorist sites
16:21and then destroyed the enemy's air bases.
16:27Now it's time to destroy the chiefs of our forces.
16:47Thank you very much.
16:48Thank you very much.
16:50If I don't stop, it won't stop.
16:55By the way, friends, we could have done something else.
17:06But we also need to be patient with power.
17:11We have presented a great example of the combination of power and patience.
17:19Like the backbone of self-reliance,
17:22we are also gaining success in critical and frontier technologies.
17:27Artificial intelligence, cyber,
17:30Friends, you will be happy to know that
17:33self-reliance in the defence sector
17:36has become a means of increasing self-reliance.
17:40It has become a means of increasing self-reliance.
17:43Self-reliance in the defence sector
17:46to increase self-reliance
17:49two days ago,
17:51AMCA has approved an execution model
17:54for the fifth generation fighter aircraft
17:57to be built in India.
18:06This is a very bold and decisive decision.
18:12It will strengthen India's defence capabilities
18:18and provide depth and height to the aero-space sector.
18:24Under the AMCA project,
18:26five prototypes are planned to be developed.
18:29The series production will take place later.
18:33This decision should be a milestone in the history of the Make in India program.
18:39Because for the first time in a mega-defence project,
18:42it will get a chance to participate
18:45not only in the public sector but also in the private sector.
18:51Friends, in Operation Vermilion,
18:54the people of the whole country
18:57saw the success of the Make in India program,
19:00understood it and felt it.
19:03Today it has been proven that
19:05Make in India is very important for India's security and prosperity.
19:13Friends, in India's national security,
19:16Make in India is an essential component.
19:20If we did not have this capability,
19:23then the Indian army from the lower part of Pakistan to the POK
19:30from the lower part of Pakistan to the POK
19:33would not have been able to carry out such an effective operation against terrorism.
19:42Friends, running a business of terrorism is not cost-effective.
19:48In fact, it may have to pay a heavy price.
19:52Pakistan has realized this today.
19:56I would like to repeat it again.
19:58Running a business of terrorism is not cost-effective.
20:04In fact, it may have to pay a heavy price.
20:09Pakistan has realized this today.
20:19We have redesigned and redefined India's strategy and response against terrorism.
20:27We have recalibrated our engagement and scope of dialogue with Pakistan.
20:36Now whenever we talk, we will talk only about terrorism,
20:41we will talk only about the POK
20:44and we will not talk about any other issue with Pakistan.
20:47We will not talk about any other issue with Pakistan.
20:53You know who else would like to talk about this issue with Pakistan.
20:59Friends, I believe that the people of Pak-occupied Kashmir are our own.
21:06You believe it, don't you?
21:08The people of Pak-occupied Kashmir are our own.
21:12They are a part of our family.
21:14I am fully committed to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's One India, One India.
21:22And I am confident that our brothers,
21:26who today are different from us in terms of language and politics,
21:31will return to the mainstream of India with their self-confidence,
21:35the voice of the soul, and self-discipline.
21:44I know that most of the people there feel a connection with India.
21:49There are a large number of people who feel a connection with India in the POK.
21:53Only a few have been chosen who have been misled.
21:59The situation of our brothers who live in the POK is similar to that of
22:04the younger brother of the brave warrior Maharana Pratap, Shakti Singh.
22:09I would like to repeat it again.
22:10The situation of our brothers who live in the POK is similar to that of
22:16the younger brother of the brave warrior Maharana Pratap, Shakti Singh.
22:20Even though the younger brother is different from Shakti Singh,
22:23the trust of the elder brother Maharana Pratap remains in his younger brother.
22:29And he says with great confidence that
22:32he will leave the tabak panth on his own.
22:36He is my own brother. Where will he go away from me?
22:40India always talks about uniting hearts.
22:49And we believe that the day will come when love, unity and truth
22:54will not be far when our own POK will return and say,
23:00I am India, I am an Indian, I will come back.
23:04And I have come back.
23:07I am India, I have come back.
23:11This is what the POK will say. This is my firm belief.
23:14POK's unity with India depends on the cultural, social and economic prosperity of this country.
23:22Friends, when I talk about prosperity through MAKE IN INDIA,
23:27then my talk is not limited to defense manufacturing only.
23:31MAKE IN INDIA is a defining moment for us,
23:36which came to Japan in the 20th century.
23:40Like Japan, we can become a development hub for engineering,
23:43high-precision manufacturing and future technologies.
23:49This is my belief.
23:52Friends, there is no shortage of talent in India.
23:56Most of the world's big companies are of Indian origin.
24:01People are working in large numbers.
24:04Like Japan has made a separate identity of its technology and manufacturing all over the world,
24:10similarly, when India's technology and manufacturing will be established all over the world,
24:17then when we will make a pen,
24:19then we will be able to do its branding by saying that it is made by Indian technology.
24:27That is, everything made in India through MAKE IN INDIA will have a premium.
24:33Like it used to be made in Japan.
24:36This will open new doors of prosperity in our country.
24:41Friends, this is our experience.
24:44We have seen that if the government and industry work together,
24:51then nothing is impossible.
24:54That is, everything can be possible.
24:57Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, India is no longer just a consumer of defense technology,
25:03but has also become a producer and exporter.
25:07And it is also moving fast in that direction.
25:10And when the world approaches us for high-end defense systems,
25:14then it is not just a market indication,
25:17but it is a respect for India's capability.
25:21Friends, the stage that the Indian industry has prepared to determine the direction of the country's future
25:30is really commendable.
25:33I think that the Indian industry is also responsible for India's collective aspirations today.
25:40Today, we are standing on a stage where the common efforts and synergy of the government and industry
25:47can make India the global superpower of the next decade.
25:52Friends, today, the valuation of a country's power is not just based on its economic index,
25:58such as GDP, foreign investment or export figures.
26:05The world has just begun to see how much confidence a country can instill in its citizens and international community.
26:13Do the institutions of our country believe in its integrity and direction?
26:22Is that country considered stable, mature and responsible on the international stage or not?
26:29This is the benchmark that makes a country great in today's era.
26:34But friends, this confidence does not arise suddenly.
26:41It does not arise from any slogan, announcement or advertisement.
26:48It is related to national security.
26:51Now, when a country has the self-confidence that it can protect its geopolitical interests,
26:57ensure the security of its citizens and stand against the uncertainties of the future,
27:06only then does a true confidence arise.
27:11The strength of the nation remains high only when it knows that it is safe today
27:17and the future is safe tomorrow.
27:21Looking at all this, friends, the government has given priority to policy, clarity,
27:27indigenization, economic resilience and strategic autonomy.
27:34But the success of these efforts can only be ensured
27:38when all stakeholders, innovators, entrepreneurs, manufacturers
27:44become participants in this national mission.
27:48Let us all come together and make this commitment,
27:52that India First should not only be our slogan,
27:56but should also become the soul of our strategy and our work culture.
28:03Friends, this gathering of the CII represents the economic strength of the country.
28:12I believe that if we want to make India a fully developed nation by 2047,
28:20then you will have a very important role in this.
28:25There are no differences of opinion in this.
28:30You will have a very important role.
28:33Friends, it is necessary today that the Indian industry also take a step-by-step
28:38and think about an economic doctrine in which along with the common factors of production,
28:44national security, national interest, national goals and national strength
28:50should also have an appropriate place.
28:53Our slogan of self-reliance is an economic policy,
28:58but it is also a strategic thinking.
29:02Friends, with this important vision of the CII,
29:05I appeal to the Indian industry that
29:08it is natural that one should look at the company interest.
29:12You are already looking at it.
29:14You are already looking at the national interest.
29:17But now,
29:19you will have to focus more on the national interest than necessary.
29:25If I say this in another way,
29:28securing the company's interest is your duty,
29:31then securing the national interest is your duty.
29:41Because the creation of a strong nation is the duty of all its segments.
29:49Like,
29:55I will not discuss it now, I will leave it.
30:01I wanted to take it to Operation Vermilion,
30:05but I will not take it.
30:07We will see when it happens.
30:10Friends,
30:12as I just said,
30:14India is rapidly climbing the stairs of economic success.
30:18Today, it has emerged as the fourth largest economy in the world
30:22and soon it will be seen as the third largest economy.
30:26But at the same time,
30:28our challenges are also increasing.
30:33In such a situation,
30:35I believe that the role of the CII will become even more important.
30:40The whole country is looking at you and the Indian industry
30:43with a special hope,
30:45and not just hope,
30:47but with complete faith.
30:49Friends, I believe that the CII
30:51is giving its full attention to this issue.
30:56And I was seeing that
30:58in this summit, you are holding sessions on many different dimensions
31:01like national manufacturing mission,
31:03climate, resilient agriculture,
31:05geopolitics of energy transition,
31:07AI ecosystem,
31:09sustainable development,
31:11and digital age.
31:16Your comprehensive outlook
31:20and your resolve to work on national interests
31:22are reflected in this summit.
31:25I wish you success in this summit.
31:30Once again,
31:32I thank you all from the bottom of my heart
31:36and express my gratitude for inviting me to this event.
31:42Thank you all very much.
