00:00The Marie-Thérèse Pink Diamond belonged to Duchess Marie-Thérèse of Angolen, who was the daughter of Marie-Antoinette.

00:19This very special diamond weighs 10.38 carats. It is a fancy purple-pink diamond from the 18th century and most likely from the Golconda mines in India.

00:32From Marie-Thérèse of Angolen, it passed on to her niece, Duchess Marie-Thérèse of Chambord, and from there to Duchess Marie-Thérèse of Bavaria.

00:42In 1996, the descendants of Duchess Marie-Thérèse of Bavaria sold the diamond at auction in Geneva, and this is the only other time it is coming up for sale at Christie's in New York on June 17th with an estimate of 3 to 5 million U.S. dollars.
