00:04Let's do it.
00:09I'm John Walsh, and I've dedicated my entire life to locking up the worst criminals.
00:15We're tracking down one of the most ruthless gangs of lawbreakers we've ever gone after.
00:21My son Callahan and I are fired up.
00:24With your help, we're coming for fugitives, hunting them down, and putting them right where they belong.
00:30Behind bars, including these that you'll see tonight.
00:34First, she called for help, but within 24 hours, she was gone.
00:39A young mother of four shot to death in her own home.
00:43Now, the manhunt is on for her husband, veteran Aaron Pennington.
00:48Then, he was a butcher, a master of the craft.
00:52But police say his talent with a knife took a terrifying turn.
00:56We're on the hunt for Renato Yedra Braseno.
00:59Finally, a ruthless crew of thieves stalking celebrities online and ransacking their homes for luxury loot.
01:07Tonight, Atlanta's own Lil Jon is in studio with us to help break down a dangerous bling ring
01:13and catch the one who got away, Karwan Mohammed.
01:18America's Most Wanted is the original true crime series.
01:22And we're back.
01:24You can run, but you can't hide.
01:27Hello, I'm John Walsh, and this is America's Most Wanted.
01:31Tonight, we're back on the hunt for the most dangerous fugitives wherever they're hiding.
01:36And I'm Callahan Walsh.
01:37We just kicked off a brand new season, and the pursuit of justice is already in full swing.
01:42We're fired up as ever, bringing you a new line-up of cases in the search for low-life fugitives,
01:48including one from a notorious Atlanta-area crime ring.
01:52Stepping in to join the fight tonight, we've got a special guest.
01:56Grammy-winning rapper and born and raised in Atlanta, Lil Jon.
02:00He's here to help us break down this case in his hometown.
02:04It's a team effort at AMW.
02:06Alongside our investigators, we have the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and local and state police all standing by.
02:12But you continue to be our greatest partner.
02:14Since 1988, your tips have helped us nab 1,198 suspected criminals.
02:20And remember, when you call or go to our website, your identity will be protected.
02:25Every tip, every second counts, because no matter how far fugitives run, one thing is certain.
02:31You can run, but you can't hide.
02:33Let's settle up.
02:34Our first case is a heartbreaking reminder that domestic violence can often be a race against time.
02:40It's been nearly two years since a devoted mother of four was brutally murdered at her home in Gardner, Massachusetts.
02:47What makes this case so tragic is that Breezy Pennington, just before her death,
02:52reportedly called police to tell them she was having trouble in her marriage and that she feared for her safety.
02:59Now her husband, Aaron Pennington, the prime suspect in her murder, is on the run.
03:05Is he considered a suspect or a person of interest?
03:08He's considered armed and dangerous and a person that we want to find.
03:12This is one of the strangest cases for a nice town like Gardner. It was shocking.
03:16They were so good at masking, it was hard to tell that there was all this chaos going on behind the scenes.
03:22She was going to take the kids and bring them down to Texas. She ran out of town.
03:26She was beautiful, and she loved her children, and she didn't deserve to die.
03:32My niece, Breanne, came into this world so loved, and she just loved running on her horse with that long blonde hair, blowing in the wind.
03:49So we called her Breezy, and Breezy was very active in our church.
03:56In 2012, at church, this tall, blonde boy walks in, and Breeanne said, that one is mine.
04:05His name was Aaron Pennington.
04:08And just seven months later, 20-year-old Breezy and 22-year-old Aaron were married in the Mormon church.
04:17After their first child was born, Aaron decided to join the Air Force.
04:22They were stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
04:25They had two more children, and in the early years, they were so happy.
04:31But I do believe in Okinawa was the start of some trouble for them.
04:38Aaron was really struggling at this point.
04:42You know, there was depression.
04:44He was never that military type of man's man.
04:48In 2021, Aaron was discharged from the Air Force and transitioned back to civilian life.
04:55He obtained a job with a defense contractor in Massachusetts.
05:00They found a new church community.
05:03I got to know the Penningtons when they moved into the area as they attended our church.
05:10Aaron mentioned to me that depression ran in his family.
05:14During our conversations, there was a darkness.
05:18He spent all the time talking to me about his worries and his anxieties.
05:22He was just worried because his wife was into tarot cards and getting tattoos.
05:28Those aren't necessarily bad, but they were separating her from the religion.
05:34He worked at a few different jobs, but then he wasn't taking care of himself mentally and physically,
05:39and so he quit those jobs.
05:42The bills were coming in and not being paid.
05:45There was a lot of fighting.
05:48The Gardner police logged a number of incidences at the Pennington house.
05:53They ranged from Aaron acting erratically to Brianne's concerns for his mental health.
05:59Brianne had decided that she was leaving.
06:04The marriage was over.
06:07In early October of 2023, Aaron went to visit family in California.
06:13He was obsessively calling, texting.
06:19He wanted her to take him back.
06:21That was never going to happen.
06:23She left messages with a friend talking about her fear,
06:27and that she had decided to leave and take the children to Texas to be close to her grandparents.
06:34But on October 20th, Aaron was flying home.
06:39She was scared that he was just out of his mind,
06:42so she called Gardner police about whether she wanted a restraining order.
06:48Breezy then left a panicked audio message for her friend.
06:52I've told Aaron a million times, do not show up here.
06:55You need to get help. I do not feel safe. You're not welcome.
06:59A little more than 24 hours later, she was dead.
07:05My neighbor's kids have come over to my house scared.
07:08They don't know where their dad is, and they're trying to get a hold of their mom.
07:13They can't get into her bedroom.
07:15I got a call. One of the neighbors next door to the Pennington's
07:20said that the children had showed up on the doorstep.
07:23We then go in the house asking, Breezy, Breezy, where are you? Is anyone here?
07:29So we just try the door, and the knob turns, but there was a dresser right there.
07:36I remember seeing Breezy laying in the bed with her head facing away.
07:49It was a violent scene.
07:53It appeared to be an execution.
07:55My first question was, where is Aaron Pennington?
08:02Aaron Pennington is 34 years old, has blonde hair, blue eyes, is 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs about 175 pounds.
08:09He's an Air Force veteran and a skilled mechanic,
08:12so it's possible he could be working in aviation or automotive repair.
08:16He was also a member of the Church of Latter-day Saints.
08:19So there's two communities, veterans and members of the Mormon Church,
08:23and it's possible folks in these groups could be helping him out.
08:26If you recognize this fugitive, don't approach him.
08:29Pennington is considered armed and dangerous.
08:31Call 1-866-AMW-TIPS or go to amwtips.com.
08:37Coming up, police uncover a smoking gun and trace the final steps of Aaron Pennington.
08:44And later, authorities accuse a butcher of brutally murdering his girlfriend,
08:49then setting her apartment on fire to cover up his crime.
08:52Plus, a ruthless gang uses social media to target celebrities and rob their homes, terrorizing the community.
09:00Atlanta's own Lil Jon helps us dig into this wild story.
09:04But first, we need your tips to help us close this case. Take a good look.
09:09The year-long manhunt continues for Jonathan Baez Perez,
09:14who's wanted for allegedly shooting a man nine times at the Carne Asaria La Tuna Market in Enid, Oklahoma.
09:22Police say the confrontation began when Baez Perez, seen in white, approached Cesar Gomez outside this grocery store.
09:30Their argument quickly escalated until a friend stepped in to break up the fight.
09:35But the beef isn't over as Baez Perez returns to his vehicle.
09:40Still upset, Gomez approaches and kicks the car door, which is flung open,
09:45as Baez Perez allegedly opens fire from the passenger seat, hitting Gomez in the hand and torso.
09:53Watch as Baez Perez makes his escape behind the vehicle as Gomez clutches his gunshot wounds.
10:00Luckily, Gomez survived.
10:03Baez Perez is 24 years old, 5'6 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds.
10:10Authorities say he has a prior felony gun conviction and may have fled to his home state of Jalisco, Mexico.
10:17And they're offering a $5,000 reward for his capture.
10:21If you recognize him, contact us immediately.
10:36Welcome back.
10:37Authorities are searching for Aaron Pennington, the man they suspect of murdering his own wife, Breezy,
10:43just as she was preparing to leave him.
10:46As investigators dig deeper, they uncover a disturbing relationship and a chilling call for help.
10:57My brother called me. He said Breezy's been murdered.
11:02And I had to have him repeat it three times.
11:08She was in the safety of her own bed.
11:14It appeared that Aaron Pennington had barricaded the door to the bedroom,
11:18had allegedly killed his wife, Breanne Pennington,
11:23exited the house by jumping out of a second floor window.
11:26And now he was nowhere to be found.
11:29We didn't find a gun at the scene, but we did find Aaron's cell phone.
11:33That cell phone contained a note that Aaron apparently wrote to himself.
11:38Don't say anything. Be quiet.
11:41If she wakes up, just say you're getting nasal spray.
11:44Get on side of bed, very close proximity to head.
11:48Put hole in her head.
11:52And that is the smoking gun.
11:54We are currently looking for Aaron Pennington.
11:58He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
12:01He is driving a white BMW.
12:04Surveillance video from a house across the street showed Aaron Pennington's white BMW
12:10leaving their residence at about 8.50 in the morning.
12:14Monday, October 23rd, Aaron's vehicle was located at Camp Collier in Gardner.
12:20A hunter found the vehicle.
12:22It appears that the car got stuck.
12:25It's not really an area that you would drive to.
12:29Suspicious.
12:31Literally, it feels like he just disappeared.
12:37I felt like I was trying to help him and that my efforts fell on their face.
12:45I felt betrayed.
12:48It was hard to reckon with.
12:51I never knew if I even talked to the real Aaron.
12:56If Aaron's still out there, I would encourage him to turn himself in.
13:02I know he's out there. I know he is.
13:06I think about Rizzi every single day.
13:09I want to kiss her cheeks and tell her I'm so sorry.
13:14I will never stop loving you.
13:17There is nothing you do will ever, ever change how much I love you.
13:26Folks in the military, even veterans, can have complicated issues in their family lives.
13:32So we wanted to talk to someone who had firsthand insight into that world.
13:37Josh White is a veteran, a podcaster, and an influential voice in the Air Force community.
13:43Josh, thanks for being here.
13:45Sir, it is my honor.
13:47From one veteran who serves this country to another, I want to thank you, sir.
13:51When folks like me are deployed, we know our families are safe
13:55because we have someone like you out there watching over us.
13:58Well, thank you. Thank you for the kind words.
14:00And thank you for your service.
14:02Aaron Pennington, he was an airman, you're an airman.
14:05Yes, sir.
14:06How do you compare your service with his?
14:09So with Aaron's service, the biggest overlap is probably the fact that we both worked on the Kadena Air Base flight line in Okinawa, Japan.
14:18With that comes 12-hour shifts.
14:20Right.
14:21You have to be alert at all times, your attention to detail at an all-time high with zero room for error.
14:28The stress of being in another country.
14:31My dad, who was my hero, 15 medals in World War II, was stationed on Okinawa.
14:37He flew a B-24, almost shot down several times.
14:41Returning to civilian life is tough, isn't it?
14:45Being away from your family, being overseas, especially being a young, newer airman.
14:49I was always warned of the culture shock of going to Japan, going to another country.
14:54But I'll tell you, the culture shock was actually the return back to the United States.
15:00It kind of felt like I had to, you know, keep looking over my shoulder.
15:04There was a sense of unease.
15:06You know, there's so much traumatic stress syndrome these days.
15:10His wife was pulling away from the Mormon church.
15:12You know, that probably added to the stress.
15:15If you are not mentally prepared, emotionally prepared for something like that, it can certainly catch you off guard.
15:21Looking at this case, what do you think could have been done differently?
15:25With Aaron specifically, those red flags were probably there for many years.
15:30People probably saw them over and over again.
15:33And unfortunately, he did not have the intervention he needed at the time.
15:36When we see those red flags and we ignore them and say, you know, they'll figure it out, they'll get better.
15:41It's not the right answer.
15:42No.
15:43I think we need to normalize asking for help.
15:45What if he was watching tonight?
15:48I'd say, you know, Aaron, I've been in your shoes.
15:51I know firsthand the pressure and the anxiety that comes with a mission like that.
15:58I understand what it's like to be a father and a husband and to feel the pressure of supporting them.
16:05But I also understand that he joined with the values that all Airmen join with.
16:10Integrity first, service before self, excellence in all we do.
16:14Right.
16:15And I know at some point in his life, those meant something to him.
16:19So I would tell him to tap back into that.
16:22I couldn't agree with you more.
16:24I want to thank you for all the kind words.
16:26Thank you for your service.
16:28Thank you, sir.
16:30Let's take another look at Aaron Pennington.
16:32He's 34 years old, has blonde hair, blue eyes, is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds.
16:39Pennington has been on the run for over a year.
16:42He's left quite a trail behind him.
16:44His wife, Breezy, was found dead in their Gardner, Massachusetts home in 2023.
16:49The following day, police found the car they believe Pennington was driving at a nearby campground.
16:55A search there and at a nearby lake turned up no sign of him.
16:59Pennington also has ties to Southern California, specifically the Inland Empire where his father lives.
17:05We also know Aaron was a faithful member of the Church of Latter-day Saints.
17:09So it's worth mentioning he could be hiding where there's a large Mormon community like Salt Lake City.
17:14If you've seen someone who fits the description, be very cautious.
17:18Pennington is considered armed and dangerous.
17:21Coming up, she thought she knew the guy she was dating, an award-winning butcher.
17:27Police claim his talent turned deadly.
17:30Then, an Atlanta-area gang uses social media to track celebrities and rob their homes.
17:37To help us out, Atlanta's own Lil Jon will join us.
17:41But first, we need your help with this case.
17:44Authorities in Washington State are looking for this woman, Seattle's serial bank robber.
17:51She's connected to at least six bank robberies in six months and accused of stealing thousands of dollars from banks all over Seattle.
18:00This first heist was at a U.S. bank where she passes a note demanding money.
18:06The teller hands her hundreds of dollars and she calmly leaves the bank.
18:11Here she is on January 3, 2025, this time at a Home Street bank, passing a similar note to a bank teller.
18:20She walks away with a stack of cash, seen here in the bank's parking lot.
18:25Then, just last month, she robs another Home Street bank, but this time she flashes a gun at the teller.
18:33The suspect is described as an Asian female, 20 years old, 5 foot 4 inches tall.
18:40If you're in the Seattle area and recognize her, call us now.
18:46Stay with us. We'll be right back.
18:51Welcome back.
18:55This next case is about a butcher who won recognition in meat cutting competitions all around the world.
19:02He had the awards, the reputation, and by all accounts, an incredible girlfriend.
19:08But it was a love story that would turn deadly.
19:13Veronica was fun. She was young and free and you can tell that she will always be surrounded by friends and family.
19:21Me and Veronica have been always very close.
19:26We grew up in Italy.
19:29Because Veronica was older than me, she wanted to protect me.
19:33It was two of us against the world.
19:37In 2012, Hillary moved to the North Beach section of San Francisco, where her sister Veronica would join her two years later.
19:45North Beach is the Italian area of San Francisco.
19:49Lots of Italian restaurants, bar, you can drink a coffee like Italians do.
19:54Veronica and Hillary, they were definitely best friends.
19:57We saw each other every day, I would say. Yes.
20:00When I had my son, Gabriele, Veronica immediately fell in love with him.
20:04She wanted to be in his life.
20:15Veronica and my husband both ended up working at a butcher shop and there was a man there.
20:20He was always in charge to cut the meat.
20:23He was a shy person, not someone that would initiate a conversation.
20:28Renato Yedra Braseno was living in San Francisco after a childhood spent learning the butcher trade in Mexico City.
20:36He won several prestigious butchery contests, even representing Mexico in butcher competitions.
20:43Veronica and Renato started dating, but they were trying to keep their relationship low profile.
20:49Honestly, I didn't like him very much.
20:53He was distant.
20:57About a year into their relationship, they had a fight.
21:02Renato got very jealous that my sister got this text from an old friend.
21:09She didn't like his reaction.
21:15We didn't socialize with Renato and Veronica.
21:18They only came once. It was Christmas Day.
21:23Renato and Veronica were having some issues.
21:26Definitely some tension, for sure.
21:30About a week later, she came over to our house on New Year's Eve.
21:34I was very pregnant at that time and there was something off.
21:38She was trying to hide it from her sister.
21:40But then later she started telling me things that we didn't know until that.
21:50She got pregnant.
21:53Then she lost the baby.
21:56She was worried about Renato being upset.
22:00I got a feeling that she was scared at that time.
22:05She never told me because I was pregnant and because she didn't want to put stress on me and be worried.
22:17Just two weeks later, Hilary went into labor with her second child.
22:21My contractions started at 2 a.m.
22:23Veronica was supposed to come to stay with Gabriele home while we were going to the hospital.
22:28We start calling Veronica and we didn't get any answer.
22:32We need to figure out something else and then we head to the hospital.
22:38At 8 a.m. in the morning, Hilary was getting ready to have the baby and I had this phone call.
22:44On the other side was Veronica's neighbor telling me that something happened very bad to Veronica.
22:52He told me the apartment was on fire.
22:57And he told me Veronica's dead.
23:02The fire department arrived on scene at 8 in the morning.
23:06They observed a female on the ground, burnt to a crisp.
23:10She had a gash or slice almost from ear to ear across her neck.
23:17They could immediately recognize this was likely a homicide.
23:28Not only did this scumbag allegedly take the life of Veronica Donito,
23:31the fire put an entire apartment building filled with occupants at risk.
23:35We're talking about alleged murder and arson.
23:38Please, we need your help to locate Yedra Briseno, the prime suspect.
23:42Take a good look.
23:44Yedra Briseno is 40 years old, a Latino male.
23:47He usually wears his hair in a ponytail, but he may cut it shorter to alter his appearance.
23:52He also has a distinctive peak in his hairline and his left ear is pierced.
23:56And check out these renderings of Briseno's tattoos,
23:59created by the U.S. Marshal Service for America's Most Wanted.
24:02He has a D.F. on the left side of his chest
24:05and his entire back is covered with a large angel skeleton.
24:09Coming up, the trail of evidence and surveillance video
24:14leads police to their number one suspect.
24:17Plus, a string of home invasions and burglaries has an Atlanta community on edge.
24:23But first, we need your help solving this case.
24:27Authorities in Houston are on the lookout for this man,
24:32accused of brazenly robbing two local businesses in a matter of minutes.
24:37First, at the Lucky Convenience Store in the 8900 block of South Brazewood Boulevard,
24:44the suspect demands money.
24:46It appears he has his hand in his waistband,
24:49possibly to signal a threat that he has a weapon.
24:52Watch as the suspect grabs the register and opens it himself,
24:57while the cashier tries to stop him from grabbing hundreds of dollars in cash.
25:02Money in hand, he leaves to his next hoist.
25:06Five minutes later, and a half a mile away,
25:09this scumbag then attempts to rob a grocery store,
25:12but this time the clerk doesn't give him a dime.
25:16He exits the store empty-handed,
25:18but luckily surveillance cameras catch his face.
25:21Take a look. The suspect is a white male, early 40s.
25:25He was seen wearing a gray shirt, orange shorts,
25:29with a Texas longhorn logo on the bottom left,
25:32and a Texas A&M Aggies gray hat.
25:35He could be using a beard as a disguise.
25:38If you recognize this man, send us your tips.
25:43And remember, you can make a difference.
25:46Welcome back to America's Most Wanted.
25:49Veronica DeNito's life was cut short in a savage attack.
25:53Her family was shattered.
25:55As if her loss wasn't painful enough,
25:58they got the devastating news on a day
26:01that should have been one of the happiest of their lives.
26:05On Friday, January 15th of 2021,
26:09a woman died in a car crash.
26:12On Friday, January 15th of 2021,
26:16officers received a report of a structured fire.
26:19Fire department observed a female
26:22with a large gash across her neck.
26:26One of the neighbors informed the detectives
26:28that there was conversation taking place.
26:32They were familiar with the voice
26:34as being Renato, the boyfriend of the victim.
26:39At that point, Renato became a possible suspect in this homicide.
26:50I had Maya, so I turned to Mariano,
26:54and he had this very, very worried face.
26:59So in that moment, it was like, something's wrong.
27:03At that time, I was really in shock.
27:06I didn't know what to do.
27:08And then I just, you know,
27:11tell Hilary that Veronica was just not with us anymore.
27:21I was holding my brand-new daughter, Maya,
27:24when Mariano told me that my sister was killed.
27:28And I initially, I don't think I realized it,
27:34I don't think I realized it, like, right away.
27:37And then they took the baby away from me.
27:40And then I don't remember much after that.
27:45In this investigation of the homicide,
27:47cell phone records showed Renato at the scene of the crime
27:51within the time frame that we believe when it happened.
27:54An ignitable liquid was found within the carpet around the body,
27:58which detectives believed to be gasoline.
28:01Video surveillance from the local gas station
28:03showed Renato purchased a red gas canister
28:06approximately a half hour before the 911 call from dispatch.
28:10Cell phone records showed he traveled to Crocker Amazon Park,
28:14where we located a vehicle in which we observed
28:17a red gas canister along with a large butcher knife,
28:22which revealed DNA belonging to the victim.
28:25Renato was observed entering a nearby vehicle,
28:28which belonged to an uncle.
28:30Renato and his uncle drove from Daly City to the U.S.-Mexico border
28:35on the same day of the homicide.
28:42I think about her every day,
28:44and there's so much in my daughter that reminds me of her.
28:49Renato took so much away from me.
28:52You don't want people like this to be out on the street.
28:56The way that he did all these things,
28:59I don't think he deserved to be free.
29:02You need to have justice.
29:06It's just not right,
29:08having to remember every single birthday of my daughter.
29:12It's too much.
29:18I'm sorry.
29:21To help us understand what motivated this fugitive
29:25is Dr. Leslie Dobson,
29:27a forensic psychologist and podcaster
29:30who spent nearly two decades
29:32analyzing the minds of some very violent people.
29:36Thank you for being here.
29:37Thank you for having me.
29:38As a forensic psychologist, what do you think's going on?
29:41I definitely think he shows this callous nature.
29:44The way that he killed her, cutting her neck,
29:47is so graphic and horrifying
29:49that you have to be detached from your emotions.
29:52Right, a sociopath, but incompetent.
29:55I think he was in panic mode.
29:57Yeah.
29:58And then, as you can see in the video,
30:00he actually buys gasoline to bring back to her apartment
30:04to burn the apartment down and hide the crime scene.
30:07But he returned to the crime scene,
30:09which shows that the arson wasn't premeditated.
30:12Yes, there was anger,
30:14and he wanted to cover his tracks.
30:17This wasn't planned out
30:18because the police still find her,
30:21and they can identify her.
30:22So I'm thinking this individual is very impulsive.
30:26Yeah, you know as well as I do how dangerous he is.
30:30100%.
30:31Do you think he's been carrying on his career
30:34while he's been on the run?
30:35I think he identifies as a butcher.
30:37He has awards of being such a great butcher
30:40and very comfortable with knives.
30:42And we heard that he's got family
30:44in the restaurant business in Mexico.
30:46Yes, so he'd be in the back of a restaurant.
30:48He would be in the back of some place
30:50in charge of the meat,
30:52but still using his skill set in some way.
30:54So I say to people all the time,
30:56if you're eating in a restaurant,
30:58just keep your eyes open.
30:59Yeah.
31:00People are sitting in a restaurant,
31:01an Irish pub, watching America's Most Wanted.
31:04We had profiled the guy that was working
31:06in a kitchen in a restaurant,
31:08and they made the call to us and to 911.
31:11And he got captured.
31:12That's amazing.
31:13So we need to tell people to be on the lookout.
31:15Yes.
31:16If you could talk to him for two seconds,
31:18what would you say?
31:19A little girl's birthday will forever be associated
31:22with this alleged crime.
31:25Turn yourself in.
31:27Give them emotional justice.
31:29I know very much I've walked in the shoes
31:31of that family waiting for justice.
31:33Right, it's called ambiguous grief,
31:35where we lose a limb, but we still feel like it's there.
31:38We lose a family member,
31:40but we don't know who did it exactly.
31:43We want justice, and then we can grieve.
31:45And some of the pain of this family.
31:47Yes.
31:48Well, thank you for all the great advice.
31:50Thanks for being here.
31:51And hopefully something you said
31:53will get somebody to make that call.
31:56Cal, let's take a look at the trail
31:58investigators are following.
32:00After the fire was extinguished,
32:01the body of Veronica Donito was discovered
32:04in her apartment in Daly City, California.
32:07Shortly after, the suspect's phone connected
32:09to a cell tower in San Francisco,
32:11where investigators later located his abandoned car.
32:14Then investigators tracked a family member
32:17driving Yedra Braseno across the border into Mexico,
32:20where he reportedly has family in Mexico City,
32:23some who work in the restaurant business.
32:25Authorities say he may have connections in Alabama as well.
32:29Veronica's family is desperate for answers,
32:31and for justice.
32:33If you have any information
32:35on Yedra Braseno's whereabouts,
32:37call 1-866-AMW-TIPS
32:40or go to our site, amwtips.com.
32:43Coming up, an Atlantic gang used social media
32:47to stalk and rob wealthy celebrities.
32:49Now, one of the lowlifes in this criminal posse
32:52is still out there.
32:54To help us unpack this case,
32:56rapper, Grammy-winning icon Lil Jon
32:59will join us right here.
33:01So stay with us.
33:03We'll be back after the break.
33:11Welcome back to America's Most Wanted.
33:14It was a high-stakes crime spree
33:16in one of Atlanta's wealthiest neighborhoods.
33:19Celebrities targeted, homes ransacked,
33:22luxury items stolen, and one innocent victim shot.
33:26Law enforcement took down most of this dangerous bling ring,
33:30but one of these dirt bags is still out there.
33:33We'll talk about all this with rapper Lil Jon in a moment.
33:37But first, take a look.
33:41Sandy Springs is generally one of the more affluent,
33:44nicer places to live inside of the greater Atlanta area.
33:48Celebrities, athletes,
33:50when they're looking to put down roots in Atlanta,
33:52Sandy Springs is one of the top places they'll go.
33:55Here in Sandy Springs, from 2021 to 2022,
33:59we notice an uptick in home invasions.
34:05Authorities learned the burglaries
34:07were all tied to a group of violent criminals
34:10known as the Drug Rich Gang.
34:12These criminals, they did their homework.
34:15This group would monitor social media pages for their targets,
34:19seeing whether or not somebody was home.
34:21In July of 2022,
34:23the gang hit Real Housewives of Atlanta star Marlo Hampton's house.
34:28She was vacationing in Toronto.
34:32And the gang didn't stop there.
34:35After singer Mariah Carey posted pictures to social media,
34:39the Drug Rich Gang broke into her multi-million dollar home
34:43in Sandy Springs,
34:45stealing some of her most prized possessions.
34:48They took Kobe Bryant jersey,
34:51custom microphone, designer clothing.
34:54The value of items taken from Mariah Carey
34:57was over a million dollars.
35:00As the gang continued terrorizing the city,
35:03one month later they targeted another house.
35:06Multiple individuals that are armed,
35:08wearing ski masks, kick the door in.
35:12But this time, things turned violent.
35:19Surprised to find a house sitter,
35:21these lowlifes shot the person,
35:23then fled in a panic.
35:26Luckily, the victim in that home survived.
35:29But as for the thieves, their luck was running out.
35:32With the help of surveillance cameras,
35:34we were able to get the license plate number off the suspect vehicle.
35:38That is when the dominoes started to fall.
35:41One of the men that was in the car, we started to question him.
35:44That scumbag rolled on his cold conspirators.
35:47And that's when police learned the gang's alleged leader
35:50was Jeremy Caldwell, a convicted criminal from Atlanta
35:54with a rap sheet that included burglary and weapons charges.
35:58Through this investigation, we were able to see
36:01they were researching their targets.
36:03They were logging on to various real estate websites
36:06to see the layout of the home.
36:08In my 12 years of prosecution,
36:10I have not seen an organization as sophisticated in their planning.
36:13But this gang was playing with fire.
36:16Even though during the crime they may be wearing ski masks,
36:19they had no problem showing off on social media
36:22the items that were taken.
36:24That was part of their downfall.
36:27I obtained a source.
36:29That source gave me information
36:32when the home invasion was going to occur.
36:35And through the source, they now were headed to South Florida
36:38to hit an NFL player who plays with the Miami Dolphins
36:42and he lives close to the water.
36:44But before their big score,
36:46these hoodlums had the bright idea to party on a yacht.
36:50As they popped their champagne,
36:52little did they know they were about to get popped.
36:56Miami Metro-Dade staked the place out
37:00and they apprehended Mr. Caldwell
37:03and one of the stolen watches valued over $100,000.
37:08We ultimately indicted 28 people.
37:10The organization itself included dozens more.
37:13The arrest of these highly sophisticated criminals
37:16made a dent in the drug-rich gang
37:18who stole millions from the peaceful community of Sandy Springs.
37:22Mr. Caldwell had a small army of men
37:26that he used to do these home invasions.
37:28And detectives are still on the hunt
37:31for a man named Karwan Mohammed
37:33whose car was used in the Mariah Carey home invasion.
37:36This is the last piece of the puzzle
37:38to put an end to the gang's reign of terror.
37:41We're doing everything to get these criminals
37:43arrested and off the street.
37:47We're joined now by a music icon
37:49who's synonymous with Atlanta,
37:51who helped shape the sound of this city.
37:54Beyond music, his influence runs deep
37:56by bringing a voice to the most important stories
37:59in the community.
38:00Little John, welcome to America's Most Wanted.
38:03Legend!
38:05Great to be here, guys.
38:07What's up, brother?
38:08Thanks for being here.
38:09I've been a fan of America's Most Wanted
38:11since the very, very beginning.
38:13Like, for me, I want to understand
38:15what makes people think they can get away with this stuff.
38:18Right. Are you familiar with the Sandy Springs area?
38:21Yes, I'm very familiar with pretty much all of Atlanta.
38:24I'm born and raised.
38:25This is the place you call home, the place you think is safe.
38:28You could leave your door unlocked,
38:30and now things like this are happening,
38:32and you're more alert.
38:33It was a hell of a wake-up call, wasn't it?
38:36Yes, it is.
38:37Many of the victims probably didn't even realize it,
38:39but they're putting out all this information
38:41in just a single social media post.
38:43Right. It made us kind of be like, wow,
38:45like, okay, I need to watch what I'm posting.
38:48Maybe I won't even say where I'm going.
38:50And people kind of were really on guard.
38:53This isn't over.
38:54I mean, people are still nervous, aren't they?
38:56People are definitely still nervous
38:58because it wasn't just one type of celebrity.
39:01It wasn't just a rapper.
39:02It was all type, athletes, all types of people
39:05that were targeted in these crimes,
39:07and it just kind of put a little fear in the city,
39:10and not knowing who they were going to get next.
39:12You know, we've had a pretty good track record,
39:14America's most wanted.
39:15We've caught 1,200 guys in 45 countries.
39:18Wow.
39:19But what's it going to take to catch this guy?
39:21He's the last one left.
39:22Just think it's just going to take one brave person
39:24to just step up and help to get this guy off the street
39:27so this doesn't happen to anyone else again.
39:29Absolutely.
39:30He's probably just had his head down,
39:32but eventually they all slip up.
39:34You're right on that.
39:35This will be the last guy to catch.
39:37You know, you've got to tell me,
39:40turn it down for what?
39:43What is it?
39:44Everybody wants to know what it means.
39:46Turn down for what means
39:47like when the party's almost over
39:49and someone's like, yeah, are you going home?
39:51Go home for what?
39:52Or like, stop, slow down for what?
39:54No, we're going to keep going.
39:55We're going to turn it up for more.
39:57We're going to turn it up.
39:58Turn the heat up on this guy.
39:59You can run, but you can't hide.
40:01Exactly, brother.
40:03Yeah!
40:04Yeah.
40:05Police nabbed almost everyone in this crime ring,
40:08but there's one suspect still walking free.
40:10Take a good look at Karwan Mohammed.
40:12He's 33 years old, 5'7", about 200 pounds.
40:15He's bald with brown eyes.
40:17He's alleged to be part of these violent
40:19Atlanta area home invasions,
40:21but he's vanished and covered his trail.
40:23Let's help police catch up to him.
40:25Call us at 1-866-AMW-TIPS
