Play-off hero shares touch of class from Blackpool fans as he pinpoints difference

Former Blackpool striker Keigan Parker shares what made his time at Bloomfield Road special following the recent legends game.

00:00Keegan, how much does this place mean to you?

00:02Yeah, like I say, it's probably the best time of my career.

00:05Playing with some great players and obviously winning promotion and playing at Wembley

00:10was a real highlight of my career.

00:12It's good when you come back and you feel valued, you know.

00:15Like the fans when you're out and that want to buy a drink.

00:19There's always a bit of nostalgia towards the players that have helped the team get promoted, you know.

00:26Yeah, you mentioned Wembley 2007. What team was that to be involved in?

00:30Yeah, it was a great team. I mean, it was 10 games in a row we won

00:34and we could easily get promoted automatically.

00:37But when we started that run, I think we were in the bottom four about October time

00:42and it was a massive turnaround, you know.

00:45And the thing about that team, there were so many great players working as a team dynamic, you know.

00:51Obviously the little bits of magic like Wes sprinkled in there.

00:56Have you all stayed close, stayed in touch over years?

00:58Yeah, it's more so when you come to events like this, you know.

01:01People move on and they've got families.

01:03But you never lose that, you know, I don't know, appreciation for the people you've played with, you know.

01:10Because it brings back great memories, like I say, you know.

01:13And do you hope to come back down to Blackpool a bit more often and come see your place again?

01:17Yeah, to be fair, I've started getting down quite a bit more.

01:20I've probably been down to three or four games in the last year.

01:23So, yeah, I got to St. John's, that was my first team.

01:27I got to their games now and again as well.

01:29So, like I say, it's always good to come down and even better when the team's doing well near the top of the league.

01:35You liking what Steve Bruce is doing from the outside looking in?

01:37Yeah, well, funny enough, I was speaking to Bob's about it before.

01:42He was one of my heroes growing up, Steve Bruce, because I was a man.

01:45I moved to England when I was 13 with my mum and then husband.

01:49And I was a man youth fan growing up in the early 90s, 92, 93,

01:56when Cartman and Mark Coos and Bruce was there, you know.

02:01Is Dub's going to start a little introduction?

02:03Ah, well, I've got his number, so I'll maybe meet him and go in and meet him.

02:06But, like I say, he was somebody I looked up to because he was a defender who scored goals as well.

02:13That's when Man U were just on the rise, wasn't it?

02:15About early 90s, wasn't it?

02:17Brian McClare, he was a Scottish international as well.
