The policy director of United Against Nuclear Iran Jason Brodsky says the US should publicly hint at an Israeli strike on Iran to strengthen its diplomatic hand with Tehran.

00:00And I just want to take a step back and set a backdrop to these talks by referencing various

00:07reports suggesting that Israel is preparing to strike Iran's nuclear sites. How legitimate are

00:14these concerns and what will the consequences be? Well, I think Israel is absolutely preparing

00:22for a potential military strike. It's been doing so for years, so I don't think that that's anything

00:27really new. I do think that it's in the interest of the United States to dangle Israel's preparations

00:34publicly in the development of a credible military threat as that aids and complements diplomacy with

00:40the Islamic Republic. And traditionally, that's been the case to try to get the Islamic Republic

00:45to agree to the U.S. conditions in this negotiating process. So that's part of the calculation as to

00:52why you're seeing public reports as to Israel's preparations for a potential military strike

00:57on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.
