A flight carrying the Operation Sindoor outreach delegation to Moscow, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi, faced hours of delay after a drone attack triggered the temporary closure of Moscow airport on Thursday. The aircraft was forced to circle in the air before being cleared to land, according to the MP's team.
00:00Shocking news coming in right now. This is concerning drone attack at Moscow airport is being reported and it concerns now with regard to our MP safety as well. The aircraft that had a passenger, Kanemori, circled in the air before it landed. The Union government has appointed the DMK Deputy General Secretary and Parliamentary Committee Chairperson Kanemori leading the delegation to Russia, Greece and other countries. We are told a delegation was formed to brief the country as well.
00:28Remember, especially against Pakistan. And at this juncture, we are hearing of information that has come in at a time like this. Remember that India's position on terrorism, the focus was to explain that.
00:45But there's been, appears to be a concerning situation. There's been reportedly a drone attack at the Moscow airport where our aircraft of delegates, including Kanemori, was also expected to land.
00:59It's landed successfully is what we are told. But the aircraft circled in the air before it landed. This is concerning. I want to immediately get in some details on this.
01:09It's a close shave for our delegates and not just Kanemori. Remember, Kanemori was leading a delegation. So there would be at least five to six other members of parliament, different political parties.
01:20And because there was an attack at Moscow airport, this has led to a concern. I want to immediately bring in Pramod Madhav on this.
01:29Pramod, what are you hearing about what exactly happened? We understand that Russia and Ukraine have been at war. Is it connected to that?
01:37Pramod Madhav, what the Kanemori team has said is that they are going over to this particular area as a delegation that was allowed.
01:45We asked to go ahead and explain about India's action through Operation Sindhur.
01:51And this is when she was supposed to land at Moscow. But the team has said that her flight was delayed for some time.
01:57And the kind of reason that was given there was that there was a swarm of drone attacks which has caused the delay.

02:59And they had to circle over the Moscow airspace just to make sure that the landing is safe.
03:04And they've also said like due to time difference, Kanemori is not able to, I mean, they're not able to reach Kanemori right now.
03:09But they have also shared the visuals of her reaching the hotel safely.
03:14And they also said that everything is fine for now.
03:17But delay was due to, they also were not aware what was the reason for the delay earlier.
03:22But it was informed that it was due to a drone attack, a swarm drone attack over there.
03:26And that delayed the landing.
03:28But however, the delegates have landed safely at Moscow airport Pooja.
