00:19It urged the WTO to stabilize global trade through greater transparency and monitoring,

00:28and accelerate much-needed reforms.
00:31While he described recent trade talks with the U.S. as a positive step,
00:35he stressed that indispensable multilateralism, not bilateral deals,
00:40was key to resolving global trade turmoil.
00:44Tensions between the two major economies escalated in April,
00:47following U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff hike,
00:50raising duties on Chinese goods to 145%.
00:54Both sides reached a temporary truce in May,
00:57with the U.S. scaling down tariffs to 30% and China to 10%.
01:03Despite the thaw, Washington doubled down on its criticism of the WTO,
01:08accusing it of failing to address trade imbalances and non-market policies,
01:13calling for urgent structural reforms.
