00:39Department of Justice spokesperson Miko Clavano says
00:58Roque had been insisting on his rights under the international law principle of non-refoulement as an asylum seeker in the Netherlands.
01:06This means states should not send someone back to their home country and this covers Roque's application period.
01:12However, Malacanang said this right is not absolute.
01:16Non-refoulement applies only to a person who would face persecution.
01:20Former Duterte Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo says that Roque is not being persecuted.
01:25He adds, quote,
01:27He should come back and face the charges.

01:31He is constitutionally presumed innocent.
01:34Let the government prove its case.

01:54to reduce class sizes and lighten the workload of our educators on the ground.
01:59It is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2025.
02:04The DepEd adds the hiring is also expected to address the need for, quote,

02:10particularly in kindergarten, elementary, and subject-specific areas in junior and senior high school.
02:15The Philippines is short of nearly 90,000 teachers.
02:22France's foreign minister said on Tuesday, May 20,
02:24Israel's easing of humanitarian aid access to Gaza is insufficient,
02:28warning its ally that the new offensive on Gaza had to stop or there would be consequences.
02:33Facing growing pressure for blocking aid since March and the risk of famine,
02:37Israel eased its blockade and let limited amounts of food into Gaza.
02:40Five UN trucks carrying humanitarian aid, including food for babies,
02:45were allowed into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

02:57adding more pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
03:01Netanyahu hits back and says, quote,
03:02The leaders in London, Ottawa, and Paris are offering a huge prize
03:06for the genocidal attack on Israel on October 7.
03:10The three leaders did not outline what actions they might take.

03:27De Leon is among the season 2 newcomers and is set to play the role of twins Lo and Lee,
03:32the elderly advisors of Fire Nation's Princess Azula.
03:36De Leon describes the opportunity as, quote,
03:39A dream come true.
03:40She says, quote,
03:41I'm extremely excited and honored to be a part of an iconic live-action version of an animated cult classic.
03:47It's my first time playing twins, which is the best fun in a creative process.
03:52Meantime, Filipino-American actor Briones will play the role of Piandao,
03:55a swordmaster in the third and final season of the series.
