Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is currently facing rent arrears amounting to RM70mil involving tenants of the People’s Housing Project (PPR) and Public Housing (PA) in the capital, significantly affecting efforts to maintain and manage community facilities.

Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif said the issue was among several raised during a dialogue session between DBKL, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and residents of PA and PPR Desa Rejang on Sunday (May 18).

She added that rent collection is crucial, as the funds are used to cover the costs of building maintenance, repairing public facilities, and providing services for residents in public and PPR housing.
