Why are sugarcane farmers still not getting their dues?
UP Minister Anil Kumar, representing Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) in the BJP government, called a crucial meeting in Baghpat to address pending sugarcane payments. But the meeting turned into a controversy:
โ No-show by officials: โ District Magistrate, Deputy Cane Commissioner, and sugar mill officials all skipped the meeting. โ Even the local police failed to provide protocol or security to the minister.
๐ก Minister Anil Kumar walked out in anger and cancelled the meeting, calling the attitude of officials disrespectful and irresponsible.
๐ A fresh meeting has now been scheduled for May 19.
This reflects growing tension within the state administration over farmer issues, and a possible lack of coordination between ministers and local officials.
