00:19Tanak was under pressure from Adrien Formeau who was keeping within a second of his Hyundai

00:32team-mate, but the Frenchman's day would end early when he hit a rock in stage eight, causing

00:38irreparable damage to the front-left suspension of his i20.

00:48Formeau's exit moved Sebastian Ogier up to second, so a potential seventh win could still be on the cards for the WRC's elder statesman.

01:03Takemota Katsuta was now in the podium places following Formeau's misfortune.

01:07The Toyota driver was consistently near the top of the timesheets, including setting the fastest time on stage seven.

01:14Martin Sesk's day, though, was not improving.

01:17A puncture had cost the M Sport 4 driver over three minutes in the morning, and he would again be slow, but he hit a bank on stage nine.

01:25So after nine stages, Tanak's lead over Ogier stands at 6.9 seconds.

01:36Katsuta less than two seconds behind his Toyota team-mate.
