Crafting Custom Bangles For Miss World Contestants: Successful Project By Hyderabad Artisans

As Hyderabad gets ready to host the 72nd Miss World Pageant, a team of craftsmen have specially crafted custom lac bangles for each participant of the pageant. &nbsp;Mohammed Anwar and his group of artisans toiled on these intricate pieces of jewellery for the duration of almost a month and prepared a total of 109 pieces. Each bangle is unique to its new owner, with a photo of their face being embedded into the bangle.&nbsp;"Putting photos on the bangles was important and a challenge for us. My team, our workers – they worked day and night to prepare these bangles," explained Anwar.Lac bangles were GI-certified in 2024 and remain a specialty of the city, especially found in Laad Bazaar, near the city's most recognisable landmark, Charminar.&nbsp;"We have included the contestants' photos and their countries' flag colours, along with the Indian flag colours. By combining these two elements, we have written 'Miss World' on them," said Mohammed Zubair, a craftsman of the group. Anwar &amp; his team hope to find an opportunity to give the product of their hard work to the contestants of the Miss World pageant before they conclude their visit. &nbsp;

00:55There were 109 bangles ready. The bangles ready for us. It was very clear that there were

01:01so many people in this country are here to give them some design and India's flag. Then

01:07they put a photo of them. It was necessary for us to put a photo. It was a challenge for us.

01:13We were very hard. Our kids and our team, the workers who are working in the team, they

01:21were very hard to prepare for us to prepare for the days. It was almost 27-28 days and a month.

01:28Each bangle features the individual contestants photograph and is decorated with crystals representing

01:34the national flags of their countries as well as the colours of the Indian flag.

01:39This year, Miss World's program has been created in Hyderabad in 2025. We have made

01:46special bangles, handicraft bangles from Hyderabad. Recently, the government of Telangana

01:55has received a G.I.B. for geographical indication for Hyderabad bangles. We have made unique bangles

02:03designs. We have made a photo of the country's flag and the Indian flag. This is the combination

02:13of both of them. We have written Miss World. We have also arranged the photo of Miss World.

02:19As a Miss World, contestants explored Telangana's cultural landmarks. Anwar and his team hoped to

02:24find an occasion to present these handcrafted souvenirs to the visiting contestants. The Miss World

02:312025 grand finale is set to be held on May 31.
