00:00Hi there.
00:01My name is Niall DeMarco.
00:03I'm Davis Guggenheim.
00:04OK, here we go, we're still rolling.
00:06I'm proud to be co-directing this project,
00:08Deaf President Now.
00:10And action.
00:13This is a story about young people standing up
00:16for what they believe in.
00:17Gallaudet University, which is the only deaf university
00:20in the world, deaf people had been receiving an education
00:22there with no deaf people representing them.
00:24After hearing president after hearing president,
00:27deaf leaders realized it was time to stand up.
00:29It's more than just a protest.
00:32It's a revolution.
00:34Co-directing with Niall DeMarco was one of the great experiences
00:37of my life.
00:38Two very different directors with different experiences
00:41sharing that.
00:42To co-direct alongside Davis Guggenheim is an honor.
00:47It was magic.
00:48And you can see it happening behind me.
00:52One of the first things that Niall said to me was,
00:55not about us, without us.
00:57Meaning, don't tell a deaf story without deaf people.
01:00Half of our crew are deaf.
01:02Not only are people feeling inspired and motivated
01:05by the story itself, but they're also learning signs.
01:08The truth in all of Hollywood's history is,
01:12creativity transcends language.
01:16The truth in all of the world is that our story is
01:20more than always.
01:21The truth in all of Hollywood's history is life
01:24and we're all given the best.
01:25And we do a long enough success to be in our lives.
01:27The truth in all of the world is three.
01:28The truth is to be honest.
01:30The truth in all of the world is the truth.
01:31And this is true.
01:32It's true.
01:33The truth in all of the world is more than one of the world in the world,
01:34the truth in all of the world.
