00:00The red carpet is rolled out for Donald Trump in Qatar, the second leg of the US
00:07President's Middle East tour focused on drumming up investments. And after a
00:14meeting with the country's EMEA, the two announced business deals between the
00:18United States and Qatar totaling more than 243 billion US dollars. Among them
00:24the purchase of hundreds of Boeing jets. Kelly's telling me from Boeing it's the
00:29largest order of jets in the history of Boeing that's pretty good it's actually
00:33200 including the 40 so it's over 200 billion dollars but 160 in terms of the
00:41jets that's fantastic so that's a record Kelly and congratulations to Boeing get
00:46those planes out there. Set to be produced over the next seven years the White
00:52House said the deal would support over 150 jobs in the US each year, while the
00:59agreement between the two countries including a mutual defense deal for
01:03advanced drone technology will reportedly generate more than a trillion US dollars
01:07in extra business for the two nations.
01:12It comes as Trump faces backlash for accepting a 400 million US dollar jet
01:17from Qatar described as a flying palace to be used as Air Force One.
01:22Qatar's Prime Minister pushed back on the criticism saying the jet is a routine
01:27government-to-government transaction not a personal gift.
01:30First of all we bought this airplane from an American company it's basically part of a
01:37cooperation that's we've been doing a lot together in between Qatar and the United States.
01:43Trump has brushed off any questions about the jet focusing instead on Iran.
01:50During a state dinner Trump repeated his calls for a peaceful resolution to Iran's nuclear program
01:55appealing to Qatar to help with the situation. Washington has held four negotiations to reach
02:01a deal over the project. Further talks are planned but the US president said for a deal to be made
02:07Iran must end its support for proxy groups. You're also working with us very closely with respect
02:13to negotiating a deal with Iran which is the far friendlier course that you would see. I mean we have
02:22two courses there's only two courses there aren't three or four or five there's two there's a friendly
02:27and a non-friendly and the non-friendly is a violent course and I don't want that. I'll say it up front
02:33I don't want that but they have to get moving.
02:39Trump is pushing for agreement despite abandoning the Iran nuclear deal in 2018 during his first term
02:45in office. Responding to Trump Iranian President Mazoud Pazeshkian said his country would not bow to any bully.
02:52With that deal seemingly shut down Trump is now turning his attention back to his Middle East tour.
03:10He will next meet with US troops at Qatar's Al-Youdid airbase before jetting to his final
03:15destination the UAE where he would continue looking to make deals that he promised the American people.
