00:37But I am certainly shocked to find myself holding this award.

00:43Your love for each other was my main source of reference for this book.

00:51Writing this book for the past few years has been the greatest trial of my life.

00:56And to see it recognized in this way just makes it all worth it.

01:05I was brought up in an environment where being a writer wasn't seen as a viable career.

01:13I was always an outsider because I wanted to pursue the arts.

01:19I spent so much time feeling alone and wondering what my place was in the world.

01:41And no matter how lonely it feels, remember to trust in yourself.
