00:00Hi everyone, this is Manjusha Radhakrishnan. Welcome back to the Dubai Dream Home series.
00:21I'm here with the Jaswani's and I have to say they look as fabulous as a Bollywood movie.
00:26Ideally they should belong in a Karan Johar movie, they're united and in a palatial home
00:32at Emirates Hills and the best part is they just told me that they have a basement which
00:37they've converted into a nightclub. Who does that? I love it. Is it too painful to go to
00:43a nightclub Anjali? Tell me the truth, why do we need a nightclub in a mansion? Honestly
00:48I think, I mean of course I moved out much earlier but I remember my brother is obviously
00:56a big fan of parties and all of that and he was like look if we're renovating the house
01:00please I want a nightclub. So that was one thing of his that he wanted and I think he spoke
01:06to dad about it and of course my parents also are very social, they love to host and they
01:12have so many friends from all around the world so they come visit and it's just nice to have
01:15your own space. And socially we like to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, we like to have
01:24our friends over all the time so I think it's nice to have our own space. So yeah I think
01:28that's where it came from, we all agreed to it. I love it. Do you ever get lost in here?
01:3328,200 square feet, that's like what? How many football grounds put together? My math
01:39is poor, I'm thinking a dozen. Yeah. I don't think they would get lost because they probably
01:44know, they've spent so much time in this house trying to make every corner look amazing.
01:49I think it was probably me who came the first time and I was like oh my god like this is
01:52so overwhelming but of course you know it's beautiful as well. Yes. So what's the vibe that
01:58you want this home to exude? I think you know the energies have to be very pure, calming,
02:05relaxing and vibrant of course. I think you know you want to wake up every morning in
02:13your own house, feel good about it. When you come back from work, you want to come home.
02:18You know that feeling is beautiful that you just want to come home and relax and it's such
02:21a every time you want to spend time at home. So it's very relaxing, the feeling is good.
02:26Right, right of course. Is there a corner in the home that you least use it but you just
02:31did it because you wanted to build it? Because I can. I think would it be the cinema?
02:37The cinema? You guys don't watch cinema enough. We don't watch much. We have a cinema but we
02:42don't watch much in the cinema. I think it's because each room has their own TV so you know
02:48you're comfortable in your own space and you're watching unless you have a plan that you're planning
02:52to watch something as a family and all of that but everyone has such busy schedules.
02:56We try to come together but then you know we rather talk than just watch a movie together.
03:01Right, of course. Your mom was telling me that she loves to spend time in her bedroom.
03:06Right.
03:07What are your favorite corner of both of you like if you could tell us?
03:10You know honestly like I have, I don't have a specific spot because I obviously come, I don't
03:18stay here. I come here every week. So I love to be around the whole house. It's just like I said the
03:22energy is so nice like wherever you, like it's very calming. I love to like go around the house.
03:27Of course I mean the nightclub is amazing. I wouldn't want to be there but that's only for the night.
03:31I love this nightclub thing. It cracks me up. It's such a rich person, people thing to do. Who has a
03:38nightclub at home? Yeah, people love it. I love it. It's I think the first time I'm hearing this concept.
03:42Like we said we like to host, right? So you're like the nightclub, we won't go to the nightclub,
03:47the nightclub comes to us. That's what I call rich people flex. No, but it's amazing. Do you
03:53have DJs coming in, big acts coming in? Yes, we have everything ready. DJ has to bring his console.
03:57We have console also. DJ has to come. Everything, he has to just come. We just need him and his music.
04:02So what was the most zaneous party that you threw at your own resident nightclub? So I think,
04:09I mean I have two special parties that we had. First was my gender reveal that I had. It was a party
04:15but it was such a, it was put in a very beautiful way. All the family and friends came together,
04:20did something special for me. It was amazing. So we used the nightclub for that and, and last year
04:25I celebrated a milestone, my 40th. Oh, that's amazing. So we had all my family friends flown down
04:30from India as well. So it was, it was a good get together. Do you use the pool much or?
04:35Unfortunately, we should have used the pool, but we are not using enough of pools like that. So is that
04:40your resolution for 2025? Use the pool more? Yes, I, that's what I was thinking. Now I must spend some
04:45time in the pool because since we have pool at home and always good for exercise also. I think that's
04:51my resolution now in 2025. I love it. I love the artifacts in this home. I think every piece,
04:57there's a story behind it. Do you guys travel a lot? Is it from the travels? Yes, we have traveled all
05:02the long, lot. And I love to pick up each, you know, piece from wherever I go. Really? Because here,
05:10when you buy from here, you see, there's somebody in somebody's house or something. True. So I better
05:16buy from wherever I travel, pick up one piece and just bring it here. So can you tell me about the
05:21paintings in the house? I feel it has so much, it's something I've not seen. It's colorful, it goes,
05:27it's eclectic. So I think we decided that we want to some painting which goes with the house. So we
05:34sent some pictures to of the house to Mr. Parish Mayati and it was customized for us because of this
05:40large size and it was kind enough to say, okay, I will do it for you guys. So it has come out very
05:45nice. It's gelling with the house, the colors and all, ambiance and things like that. Excellent.
05:49And we need some color in our house. Yes. Yes. Because see, all are subtle. So you want to see
05:56the sofa is blue and there is brown and the colors are there on the painting. And there's something
06:01vibrant in our house. So Anjali, you are a fashion designer yourself and I see a bit of like,
06:07you know, brands there, but it's not screaming brands. Is that one of the biggest mistakes people
06:11do? You have a big home, you have money at your disposal and they just splash it with brands,
06:16logos. So it's quite luxury also a thing. It is absolutely. I like you said, like if everybody
06:23who has money doesn't need to show it off. Right. So I think there are ways in which you can do it in
06:29a more subtle way. Everything doesn't have to be super loud. You don't have to the fact that you own
06:35a big house itself shows what status you're at. So I don't think you really need to push the brands
06:40to kind of, you know, a show that this is how much money I have. Right. In Dubai, they say
06:45more is more. Do you guys subscribe to that to an extent you do? I suppose. Yeah,
06:51of course. I mean, if we do have the money, why not? We want to live a good lifestyle. We want to go
06:55out. We want good cars, you know, all of this. But yeah, I think there's, it's also there's a limit to
07:03it. Like my dad mentioned, I mean, if you have money, but you should be wise enough, how to use it
07:08in what way you, of course, you want to live your lifestyle. You don't want to throw money because it's
07:13hard to earn that kind of money. Right. I know you have a beautiful home,
07:16but what's more important is that you seem very united. Is that your secret going on holidays
07:21together? What is it? What do you guys do to bond? Yeah, of course. I mean, of course,
07:25we all have dad has a busy schedule, you know, mom, like her social life is busy. They're more busy
07:31than me. Just FYI. But that happens with me too. My parents are far, they travel more, they have more fun.
07:36Yes. So and I think I'm so happy with that. Because all their life, I think they've given us,
07:42you know, everything that we want. And they work so hard, mom at home, dad, you know, of course,
07:47with his business and just to make sure that we have a good lifestyle. So when they are having a good
07:51time now, I'm actually kind of happy. And you know, we make sure that we make time. I'm here every Saturday
07:57with my son and my husband, we spend time. My brother's also there. Sorry, unfortunately,
08:01today, he's not here. I know we missed your brother. Yes. Yeah, he's traveling at the moment. So he's 19.
08:07No, no, no. Oh, I'm sorry. He's 38. He's 38. Oh, I heard 19. Okay, I was like, that's here. So he's
08:13not not available at the moment. But yeah. So we kind of all of us come together every Saturday,
08:19spend time and we make sure that at least every two summers, we take a holiday together. And I of course,
08:26spend more time right now because you know, their grandparents now, they want to see
08:31my son every week at least. So I make sure that that happens. So they are the doting grandparents.
08:36Last question. Absolutely. What's the fondest memory in this home that you have created,
08:40all the three of you and your brother who's not here? I think, I mean, we have so many memories.
08:48But I think like when we had my godbharai. Godbharai. Yes. So we had a gender reveal, but we also had
08:56in Indians, we do a godbharai, where I had a lot of the adals also, you know, and it was like,
09:02it's kind of like an Indian ritual that we do. Yes. I don't know if you've heard about it. Yeah.
09:05So it was so pure, so beautiful. We did a small prayer and then we, my parents performed for me.
09:12I was pregnant and I'm so emotional. My brothers, my friends, everyone did like, you know, like a nice
09:18performance. Really? You danced? It was so cute. Yes. And it was so nice to see them perform. And I was
09:23so emotional because, you know, I was already, you know, in that emotional state. Pregnancy hormones.
09:27And when you have your parents doing so much for you and it was just so heartwarming. So I think
09:32that memory, that evening was so beautiful. I'll never ever forget. At least that's mine. And I'm sure
09:37it's theirs. I wanted to say all the same thing I was going to say. Really? It's the most beautiful.
09:43I love it. I love the, how you guys have created a mansion, but also a home with heart. Thank you so
09:49much for letting us in on your home and it's beautiful, but I think I love the people more.
09:55Thank you. Thank you so much.
