00:00Today on Victory in Europe Day, we honour the brave men and women who served with courage,

00:17resilience and unwavering commitment in the face of one of history's greatest challenges.

00:22May 8th 1945 marked the end of World War II in Europe, but it also marked a profound

00:27moment in history.

00:29It was only made possible by the sacrifice of so many.

00:32Our brave servicemen and women answered the call, faced the unimaginable, and defended

00:36the ideals of freedom, democracy and peace.

00:40The victory was earned just not on the battlefield, but through the strength and spirit to create

00:44a better world.

00:45I would like to say a huge thank you to all of those servicemen and women for their bravery,

00:50their resilience, their drive.

00:52With deepest respect and gratitude, we remember, we honour and we sing.
