00:00The Commission on Elections serves Marcy Teodoro and his wife Ma'an Shouka's orders issued Monday, May 5, asking them to explain allegations of vote-buying and abuse of state resources in Marikina.
00:12The order addressed to Ma'an says, quote,
00:15On several occasions, you were reportedly present delivering a speech and campaigning for yourself and your husband, whilst in others, your identified supporters wearing your colors and t-shirts were seen distributing said payouts or stubs.
00:27The orders came from a complaint filed on May 5, claiming that vote-buying took place between April 28 and May 1 during financial or medical aid programs in different areas of Marikina.
00:38The complaint alleges that attendees received payouts of 2,000 pesos or claim stubs.
00:44In a statement, the Teodoros denied the allegations, saying that the move is, quote, politically motivated.
00:49The Teodoros say, quote,
00:50The individual behind it is openly identified with our opponent, which speaks volumes about the intent.
00:56What does he do?
