00:00I'm here at the Amazon Delivering the Future event in Dortmund where the company has just
00:05announced what they've described as a fundamental leap forward in the future of robotics with
00:10Vulcan robots that have a sense of touch. That means they're able to pick up and move around
00:16items in their warehouses from high up areas, low down areas, potentially transforming the
00:23way that these centres work. Their robotics director has said it's the most extraordinary
00:28achievement that he's been involved in and that the application of these Vulcan robots
00:33goes potentially way beyond these centres. He described it as robotics 2.0. It would be
00:40interesting to see the impact it has on jobs. For their part, Amazon says it's helping with worker
00:44safety, helping workers focus on more higher skilled tasks. How that plays out in the coming years will
00:51be very interesting to see.
