Former Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies cricketer Hammond Furlonge has passed on.

Furlonge was 90 at the time of his death, having taken his last breath on Tuesday.

00:02As former Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies cricketer,
00:04Hammond Furlong has died.
00:06Furlong was 90 at the time of his death earlier today.
00:09Furlong is the uncle of former TNT and Queen's Park coach David Furlong
00:13and he played three tests for the Windies
00:15and scored one half century against New Zealand.
00:18He also played 16 first class matches
00:20and hit two centuries and three fifties.
00:23We send condolences to the Furlong family.
00:26I would have grown up watching Uncle Hammond
00:30play for Maple in the Savannah mainly.
00:34You know, when he finished playing and when I started to play,
00:37you know, he was always, he always used to call and ask,
00:41you know, interested in what I did, you know,
00:43how many runs I scored.
00:45You know, he was always willing to give advice.
00:47As you know, he opened batting as well.
00:49So he also passed on his advice to me.
00:53When we had home gatherings,
00:54he was always the fun of the party,
00:57always making jokes.
00:59He was always there for us, you know,
01:02his son Christopher, I know myself,
01:04who were both involved in the cricket
01:05and also for the entire family.
01:08You know, he was always a family man.
01:10I know.
01:12But I was all very good.
