00:00The government's social assistance programs, the monetary policy adjustments of the Banco Central

00:05Non-Pelipinas, the close monitoring of basic commodity prices, and the declaration of a food

00:10emergency are among the major contributing factors to the drop in the inflation rate in April this

00:16year. According to the latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority, the inflation

00:20rate dropped to 1.4 percent in April 2025 compared to 3.8 percent in the same month in 2024 and 1.8

00:29percent in March 2025. The price per kilo of regular milled rice in April 2025 was 44.45 pesos,

00:37lower than 51.25 pesos in April 2024 and 46.09 pesos in March 2025. For well-milled rice,

00:47the price stood at 50.54 per kilo in April 2025. This compared to 56.42 pesos in April 2024

00:54and 52.20 pesos in March 2025. And as for special rice, the price was 60.69 pesos per kilo in April

01:042025 compared to 64.68 pesos in April 2024 and 62.15 in March 2025. In the meantime, the government's

01:14program of selling rice at 20 pesos per kilo has significantly contributed to the overall decline

01:19inflation in inflation.
