00:00These are the first UK strikes on Houthis in Yemen under Donald Trump.
00:05How significant is this joint military operation?
00:08Good afternoon, Leanne. I think it's very significant, not only because, as you say,
00:13it's been some time since the Royal Air Force has been involved in these missions.
00:18We understand the typhoon aircraft, they didn't say how many, but last time it was a four ship of typhoons.
00:23That gives you some cross cover. It means it's the safest way of getting across Houthi territory
00:28and also provide you some redundancy.
00:31We understand they were using Paveway 4, which are guided munitions.
00:34They'll have been guided, the GPS guided or laser guided to the targets
00:38to try and make sure they're hit within literally within metres of the correct target.
00:43And they were supported by Royal Air Force Voyager aircraft as well,
00:46which almost certainly would have provided some support to our US colleagues.
00:50And of course, our Royal Air Force assets would have been operating from either Cyprus, Poland,
00:53or potentially even UK. But it is significant, I think, particularly, Leanne,
00:58because the last time we spoke about these attacks, it had been because the Houthis
01:03have been very active in the Red Sea. Or more recently, we've not seen quite so much action.
01:09And that implies that there's much more proactive work being done by the US
01:13and the UK Ministry of Defence than previously.
