Andhra temple wall collapse kills 8, tragedy sparks political storm

00:21Who is responsible for this? The response from the government authorities is zero and

00:26which resulted in the deaths of innocent devotees. The incident occurred near a shopping

00:30complex where devotees were queuing for darshan tickets. The region had been hit by heavy rains

00:35for over an hour and due to Simachalam's hilly terrain, the loose soil and unstable tents

00:40reportedly triggered the collapse of the newly constructed wall.

00:43Gotham Reddy of Jagan's YSRCP party criticized the Chandrababu Naidu-led government alleging a

00:49complete failure in ensuring proper arrangements for devotees.

00:53This is the failure of Chandrababu Naidu. It's not a first time. In the year 2015,

00:59at the time of Godavari Pushkarams, 30 people are died due to the failure of the Chandrababu Naidu.

01:05And moreover, Chandrababu Naidu destroyed the entire temples also in Andhra Pradesh.

01:12Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-crash of Rs. 2 lakh each for the families

01:17of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.

01:22Chief Minister Naidu also announced Rs. 25 lakh compensation for each bereft family,

01:28along with Rs. 3 lakh assistance for those injured in the accident.
