00:00What I love about having you on the show, Errol, is we always unpack what's reported in the press and get the real take.
00:07Another thing that's been reported is that Elon's lost 113 billion, 113 billion net worth,
00:14largely due to Tesla's plunging profits and Trump's tariffs.
00:17How do you think, firstly, do you think that's an accurate figure?
00:20And secondly, how do you think this financial hit has affected Elon's focus?
00:24And do you believe his time in government was worth the cost to his business empire?
00:30Well, you know, that's not really right, what you just said.
00:34First of all, Tesla's value price of share a year ago was about 40 percent lower than what it is now.
00:42So over the past year, the share price has grown by 40 percent.
00:48This in itself is actually something to be alarmed about if you're in a normal country and you see shares growing at that rate.
00:59It's too high.
01:01You know, the normal rate for a share to grow would be, say, 15 would be wonderful percent.
01:08I mean, you know, 18 percent would be incredible and acceptable.
01:13But when you see things growing at 40, 50 percent, that's very high.
01:18And when you see things growing at 250 percent, well, then, you know, what was going on?
01:24Something's been going on here.
01:26You know, this is it sounds like tampering.
01:29So, you know, in reality, the share can't do that.
01:35I mean, there's a value to things and it can't jump like that.
01:41Now, it did do that.
01:42And it had to do with largely people playing the markets and Trump coming in and all that sort of thing.
01:48No, Tesla is is very, very fine, very healthy.
01:53And, you know, I can tell you that every third car from San Francisco to Texas is a Tesla.
02:04That in itself is frightening.
02:06You know, and I hear people saying, yes, but, you know, and from our point of view, if every second car was a Tesla or we found that every 10th car wasn't a Tesla, we'd sort of go into a room and wonder, you know, what have we done here?
02:24You know, we've we've sort of upset the Apple car terribly.
02:28You understand?
02:29What about these poor people?
02:31What have we done?
02:32What have we done?
