00:00Swedish police have detained a 16-year-old boy early Wednesday on suspicion of murder following a fatal shooting that left three people dead in the town of Uppsala on Tuesday.
00:11The killings took place in a hair salon just as the university town, some 40 minutes north of Stockholm, was gearing up for Walpurgis Night, one of the country's busiest holidays.
00:23Uppsala area head of police said the suspect is being held on probable cause for murder.
00:28Several others are also being questioned in connection with the case.
00:58Police add the incident was believed to be an isolated event and not linked to the holiday celebrations.
01:09The Swedish prosecution authority said the investigation is ongoing, with officers conducting interviews and analysing mobile phones and other seized materials.
