00:40Pero Inaasahang palalakasin ng SOBFA ang ugnayang militar ng Pilipinas at New Zealand

00:45sa mga joint military exercises at security cooperation.

00:49It gives some certainty to that legal status.

00:53We're increasing that activity to make our operability and trooperability

00:59much more enhanced.

01:01The more you train together, the more trust and confidence is built.

01:05And this is not only for defensive purposes but more importantly since both New Zealand

01:12and the Philippines are in the ring of fire.

01:15It will help interoperability in terms of HADR between our troops.

01:42The agreement that we have with the Philippines is very similar to the agreement

01:48between the Philippines and Australia.

01:51So there's not any difference.

01:55Theoretically there may be a UN peacekeeping mission where New Zealand and the Philippines

02:02will continue our transits.

02:06We will continue to uphold the law of the sea but we're not anticipating having to deploy

02:11anybody anywhere soon.
