Travel To Iceland | History And Documentary About Iceland In English | Adventures Tribe

Iceland, a Nordic island nation, is defined by its dramatic landscape, which includes volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, and lava fields. Massive glaciers are protected in Vatnajökull and Snæfellsjökull national parks. Most of the population lives in the capital, Reykjavik, which runs on geothermal power and is home to the National and Saga museums, which trace Iceland’s Viking history.

According to the ancient manuscript Landnámabók, Iceland's settlement began in 874 AD, when the Norwegian chieftain Ingólfr Arnarson became the island's first permanent settler.[15] In the following centuries, Norwegians, and to a lesser extent other Scandinavians, immigrated to Iceland, bringing with them thralls of Gaelic origin.
