Stuck at the border: Iranian woman appeals to PM Modi

Elham Destani, an Iranian solo traveler, finds herself stranded at the Attari border, living out of her van as her visa nears expiry.

00:07This Iranian solo traveller came to India via Pakistan by road but was stuck now

00:11because the road back to Pakistan was closed following the Pahlkam attack.

00:17When I hear the terror attack that happened in Pahlkam, even I cried.

00:24Why tourists? Because as a tourist I can understand.

00:30Alham was living out of her van at the Atari border.

00:33Her road visa was expiring soon. Time was running out.

00:36When did you enter India?

00:37Yes, actually I entered India 10th of February in this year only.

00:44And I have 90 days visa by road, tourist visa.

00:51She hoped that her plea would reach the Prime Minister of India.

00:53That's why I am requesting from Sherry Narendra Modi, Prime Minister,

01:00and also from Home Minister Affairs, please give me permission.

01:06Alhamd is not a first time traveller to India.

01:08Because I was in India many years, I lived here in my Master and PhD career.

01:17So I feel India is like my second country.
