00:00Whether cascading down a cliff face or merrily trickling amongst trees and shrubs, there is always something magical about waterfalls.
00:27While some dazzle and daze with their size and scale, others are more subtle in their beauty, as graceful curtains of water cascade into pretty pools below.
00:37The world is full of amazing waterfalls.
00:39While some are now popular tourist destinations, others lie almost unvisited in remote rainforest regions.
00:46Here's a look at the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.
00:57Number 10.
01:09Selalansfoss
01:10One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the whole of Iceland, Selalansfoss is also one of its most popular.
01:20This is, in large part, because you can walk behind its cascading carton of water.
01:24While this makes for some incredible photos, the falls are just as marvelous to view from in front as they gush off the top of a 60-meter-high cliff.
01:33Located just off the renowned Ring Road in the south of the island, Selalansfoss is not to be missed out on for its scenic setting and unique and unusual cave viewpoint.

02:19Yosemite Falls
02:21Located in the national park of the same name, Yosemite Falls in California is undoubtedly one of the most famous and photographed waterfalls in the world.
02:34Made up of the upper and lower falls with the middle cascades between, the waterfall drops a colossal 739 meters down the side of Yosemite Valley.
02:44This makes it the tallest waterfall in the whole of the United States.
02:48While its spellbinding beauty can be enjoyed from many different parts of the park, it is worth hiking to the top for incomparable views out over the valley and the Sierra Nevada mountains beyond.

03:15Plitvice Waterfalls
03:16One of the most popular attractions in Croatia, the glorious Plitvice Waterfalls are a treat to visit.
03:25Set in a gorgeous national park, the endless series of glittering waterfalls course their way between lush vegetation and downed limestone walls before merrily merging with the lakes below.
03:36Blessed with clear emerald and turquoise waters, the park's 16 lakes look absolutely breathtaking, particularly with the lovely waterfalls in the background.
03:46Wandering along the wooden walkways that meander their way peacefully around the park is a magical way to view the waterfalls up close.

04:08Banggyok Falls
04:09Number 7.
04:22Banggyok Falls
04:23Straddling the border between China and Vietnam, Banggyok Falls is the name given to two sets of wonderful waterfalls that lie along the Khe Song River.
04:35While the multiple layers and drops of the falls look absolutely astounding, the picture-perfect scene is completed by the lush vegetation, majestic mountains, and karst formations that lie around them.
04:47Long shut off from the world due to various border disputes, the falls are now an increasingly popular tourist destination.
04:53Hordes of visitors take boat trips below the Cascades, coating themselves in a fine mist of spray.

05:17Gullfoss
05:18Number 6.
05:28Gullfoss As it lies in a hidden colossal crevice that
05:35cuts through the otherwise barren Icelandic landscape, the sheer size and scale of Gullfoss
05:40only becomes apparent the nearer you approach.
05:43Once you reach the cliff edge, however, you'll find that the coursing cascades and enormous
05:48falls actually have the highest volume in the whole of Europe.
05:52Lying almost at right angles to one another, the two sets of falls make for an epic sight.
05:57And its gushing roar provides the perfect soundtrack to the dramatic surroundings.
06:03Meaning Golden Falls, Gullfoss is so named due to the color of its waters that shimmer seductively
06:09in the sun.
06:18Number 5.
06:39Kaiture Falls Snaking its way through the Amazon forest, the Potaro River passes some of the
06:47most pristine and untouched nature on Earth until it abruptly reaches Kaiture Falls.
06:54Here, the water suddenly plunges 226 meters through the air to the pool below, coating the surrounding
07:00area in a fine spray.
07:03Remarkably, the huge volume of water that courses over the fall every second makes it the largest
07:08single drop waterfall in the world.
07:10Coming in at over four times higher than the Niagara Falls, it is no wonder at all that
07:15the Kaiture Falls is one of Guyana's most popular tourist attractions.
07:32Number 4.
07:33Angel Falls.
07:35The tallest waterfall in the world, Angel Falls in Venezuela certainly makes for one of
07:42the most spectacular sights imaginable.
07:45Shooting off the summit of a tabletop mountain, the falls plunge 807 meters uninterrupted to the
07:51jungle below, with much of the water turning to mist before it reaches the ground.
07:56Adding in its other cascades and rapids and Angel Falls total height, it is a whopping 979 meters.
08:03Due to its remote location in Kanaema National Park, Angel Falls is quite hard to visit, though
08:09its stunning setting and awe-inspiring scenery certainly make it well worth the effort.
08:26Number 3.
08:38Niagara Falls.
08:43Lying on the border between Canada and the USA, Niagara Falls is one of the most famous
08:48and recognizable waterfalls on Earth.
08:51Consisting of American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls, its endless wall
08:56of gushing water seemingly stretches on forever.
09:00While the various observation decks around the falls offer up fantastic views and panoramas,
09:05you really need to take a boat trip below them to fully grasp just how large and powerful
09:10they are.
09:11Niagara Falls never fails to astound, and every year, millions of people come to see its
09:17staggering size and beauty.
09:47Niagara Falls.
10:05Number 2.
10:07Victoria Falls.
10:11If you thought that Niagara Falls was large, well, Victoria Falls dwarfs it with its colossal
10:16curtain of water that stretches for 1,708 meters, reaching 108 meters in height.
10:24It is these epic proportions that make Victoria Falls the largest waterfall in the world.
10:29Breathtaking to behold, the endless flow of water that tumbles over the cliff almost defies
10:35belief.
10:36Fittingly, the cacophonous roar that rises from the gorge below and the fine spray that hangs
10:41in the air saw the falls named, the smoke that thunders, in the local Lozi language.
10:46Nestled on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls truly needs to be seen, to be
10:53believed.
10:56Number 1.
10:57Iguazu Falls.
10:58Made up of some 275 different cascades, falls and drops, Iguazu Falls on the Argentine-Brazilian
11:17border is the world's largest waterfall system.
11:20As such, it is the only waterfall that can rival or possibly even surpass Victoria Falls.
11:26For almost three kilometers in total, gorgeous falls course over the Parana Plateau, with
11:32the undoubted highlight being Devil's Throat Canyon.
11:35This is best witnessed from the Brazilian side's viewing platform, where you are greeted with
11:39teeming sheets of water, a deafening roar, and a fine spray.
11:45With lush rainforests lying around it, the falls are a treat to visit.
11:49Visitors can take boat trips along the Iguazu River or explore the nearby paths and trails.
12:09To be continued...
12:12A pleasure.
