04:34Lying on the outskirts of Vienna, Schoenbrunn Palace is one of the most popular tourist

04:40Painted a warm yellow color, the gorgeous Rococo Palace was once the summer residence
04:45of the Habsburgs, with Emperor Franz Joseph I born there.
04:49While only 40 of its 1,441 rooms are open to the public, these are extravagantly decorated,
04:56with beautiful ballrooms alongside resplendent and refined artworks, tapestries, and sculptures.

07:22Commissioned by Francis I to be a hunting lodge, its elaborate and enchanting design proudly
07:28showcased the monarch's fabulous wealth and power.
07:31Although much of its fantastic furnishings were stripped and removed following the French
07:35Revolution, visitors can still enjoy wandering around its elegant halls and chambers.
07:40All in all, the chateau's turrets and towers make for a spectacular sight, particularly when
07:47contrasted with the lush lawns and reflective moat that lie around it.

08:12Hawa Mahal.
08:16Famed for its elaborate and ornate façade, Hawa Mahal delightfully translates to the Palace
08:22of the Winds in English.
08:24Completed in 1799, its pretty pillars, attractive arches and dignified domes are mostly fashioned
08:31out of the wonderful red and pink sandstone that Jaipur is so renowned for.
08:36While the palace has some lovely buildings and courtyards, it is the honeycomb-like exterior
08:41that attracts the most attention.
08:43Set over five floors, the beautiful bays with their colored glass windows and intricate lattice
08:48work look incredible and are the highlight of any visit to the palace.

09:07Topkapi Palace.
09:12Set in a beautiful spot on the banks of the Bosphorus, it is from Topkapi Palace that the
09:17sultans used to rule over the Ottoman Empire.
09:20Built in 1459, at the command of Mehmed the Conqueror, the palace boasts plenty of ornamented
09:26and ostentatious rooms, which feature some wonderful Islamic art.
09:31Besides its breathtaking halls and courtyards, there are also the glittering gems and jewels
09:36of the imperial treasury for visitors to check out, as well as the endless and extravagant
09:41apartments of the imperial harem.
09:43Now a magnificent museum, Topkapi Palace is one of Istanbul's most popular tourist attractions.

10:25Palace of Versailles.
10:29Although Versailles started out as a simple hunting lodge, it was turned into one of

11:19Perched atop a plateau overlooking Granada, the Alhambra has long been one of the most

13:01Once the residence of the Russian Tsars, the Winter Palace now houses the world-famous

14:15Forbidden City.
14:20Ever since it was built in 1406, the Forbidden City has dominated and defined the center of
14:26Beijing.
14:27The imperial home of emperors from both the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was from here that
14:32they ruled over their extensive empire.
14:35Set over a considerable area protected by a high wall and wide moat, the palace complex
14:40encompasses some 980 different buildings.
14:44These showcase lots of impressive Chinese architecture, with the Hall of Supreme Harmony and Palace
14:49of Heavenly Purity just two of its must-see sites.
14:53Since the abdication of the last emperor in 1925, the Forbidden City has become one of the
14:58most important sites in the whole of China.

15:18And the last four years later we have to see a coalition of immigrants.
