Kashmir shuts down after deadly Pahalgam attacks, tourists flee the valley

00:05A few days ago the picture was quite different.

00:07Tourists everywhere, people hoisting the tricolor, it was peaceful.

00:11But now, shutters pulled down, gunmen armed to the teeth at every corner and an eerie silence.

00:17Schools, colleges and businesses had closed in several parts of Kashmir

00:20in response to the deadly attack on 22nd April.

00:23Several leaders including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Meirwais Omar Farooq

00:26and Mehboob Ahmufti collectively joined this band and supported it.

00:29Tourists were leaving Kashmir in droves.
