00:00Humility, compassion, and kindness, the virtues Pope Francis held dear and firm

00:04when she predicated in acts of charity, simplicity, and love throughout his life,

00:09especially to the destitute, disenfranchised, and those living in the margins.

00:14Our Daniel Manalazez talked with a number of senators on the passing of Pope Francis,

00:18and this is what they said.

00:23Senators expressed their sympathies on the death of Pope Francis.

00:26Senate President Jesus Cudero labeled the Pope as a true Shepherd of Christ flock.

00:31Sen. Mig Zubiri shared his experience being with Pope last year in the Vatican.

00:36Zubiri said the Pope reminded him to protect the family,

00:40saying this will be his guide in everything he does as a Catholic and public servant.

00:46Sen. Gingoy Estrada, meanwhile, filed a resolution to honor the life of Pope Francis and his legacy,

00:52describing the Catholic leader as not just a spiritual leader,

00:56but also a symbol of humility, compassion, and social justice.

01:01Sen. Joel Villanueva also extended his condolences and thanked the Pope's contribution

01:06in spreading the love and word of God,

01:08also as well as Sen. J.V. Ejercito, who also expressed his deep sympathies.

01:14For Sen. Lito Lapid, the Pope spoke not only to Christians,

01:18but for all people especially, the oppressed, the poor, and those in need.

01:23Sen. Risa Conteveros hopes the Pope be kept in memory by living the virtues he had always preached,

01:29mercy, compassion, and hope.

01:32Sen. Grace Moore remembered the Pope for speaking against greed and corruption

01:36and called for ceasefire on all conflicts.

01:39Sen. Coco Pimentel said,

01:41Pope Francis reminded the world that the true leadership is service,

01:45one that listens, uplifts, and stands with the least among us.
