00:00So, I mean, he didn't exactly pin the blame solely on the Ukrainian leader.

00:06But how can there be any misinterpretation as to what the Russian troops did?

00:11They invaded another sovereign state, another democracy in Europe.

00:16And I have to say that NATO, that is the biggest, largest, most advanced, most capable international security organization in the world,

00:27stood idly by whilst something on its doorstep then enflamed itself.

00:33We could have actually put this out.

00:35There's no doubt about it straight away.

00:37But we had this constant international debate.

00:41Should we or shouldn't we arm Ukrainians?

00:43Will we spook Putin into using nuclear weapons?

00:47We lack that Cold War statecraft, if you like, that ability to look at our adversary in the eye,

00:53conscious of the escalatory ladder, but actually to stand up to the aggressor.

00:58And what President Trump is inviting us to do today is actually join in appeasing President Putin,

01:05saying, well, actually, we should just allow the bully to continue.

01:08And this is where Trump has got it so wrong.

01:10Because if you did have some sort of peace deal today, that everybody went back and the ceasefire was in place,

01:16President Putin will simply use the time to rearm, to regroup, and advance even further.

01:22Because that is what his long-term vision is, is greater influence over Eastern Europe.
