The Murshidabad Waqf Violence has shaken the very conscience of the nation. What began as legislative reform through the Waqf Amendment Act has now turned into a brutal reminder of how communal tensions can be weaponised. In Murshidabad, West Bengal, Hindu families are fleeing, internet has been suspended, and over 150 arrests have been made. A shocking video of threats being issued to Hindus has gone viral, sparking debates on radicalisation, law and order and state complicity. Is this mere protest or a deeper network at play? Why is Mamata Banerjee silent? Has the Waqf Amendment been hijacked for vote-bank politics? We explore how Murshidabad Waqf Violence reveals the cracks in Bengal’s governance. The Murshidabad Waqf Violence is no longer a local issue—it’s a national alarm bell.

00:59radical undercurrent festering in parts of our country and nowhere is this more visible than in

01:43politically sanctioned a shocking video now doing the rounds on social media shows a man openly issuing

01:59is this acceptable is this the new face of protest so let me ask you again is it okay for one
02:21particular religion to issue death threats to hindus when they come to power and if not then where is
02:29the outrage where is mamtha banerji's condemnation where is a state machinery because while mamtha banerji

04:09It raises so many questions and the TMC must be uncomfortable with all of them.
04:15Is this the democracy we fought for?
04:17Or has appeasement politics become so blinding that law and order no longer matter?
04:25Is this about the Waqf Bill at all or is it a convenient excuse for political fire starters to burn the house down just to blame the centre?
04:35Because let us not forget the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 is not anti-Muslim, it's pro-accountability.
04:42It is about ending land grabs by self-styled maulanas and giving Pasmanda Muslims their due share.
04:49And yet, protests have erupted in Hyderabad, Patna, Silchur, Mumbai with similar slogans, similar threats, similar anger.
04:59So here's another question that we have.
05:02Is there a larger network orchestrating these responses?
05:06Are regional leaders weaponizing religion to score political points?
05:10More importantly, sample the way the police has responded in West Bengal.
05:14Reports say a delayed action, weak presence, no anticipatory arrests and finally, let's address the elephant in the room.
05:23Are Hindus being deliberately targeted in West Bengal?
05:28Yes, it's a strong question but one we must ask because today it's Mursheedabad, tomorrow it could be Malda, then Birbhoom and maybe the rest of India.
05:38The centre meanwhile is not backing down.
05:41The Modi government is launching a nationwide awareness campaign explaining how the Waqf reform will benefit ordinary Muslims, curb corruption and protect land rights of tribals and Hindus.
05:55But will truth prevail or will street violence dictate policy in this country?
06:01Ladies and gentlemen, this is not just a legislative issue anymore.
06:04This is a moral battle between reform and radicalism, between governance and Gundaraj, between silence and justice.
06:15And the questions will keep coming until we get some answers.
06:19This is Divya Sharma and you're watching One India.
06:22We'll continue tracking this story until justice, not just peace, returns to Mursheedabad.
