Deux agents surentraînés sont affectés à des postes de garde dans des tours situées des deux côtés d'un vaste gouffre secret, afin de protéger le monde du mal mystérieux qu'il renferme. Nouant des liens malgré la distance, les deux agents doivent rester vigilants face à cet ennemi invisible. Mais lorsque la menace cataclysmique pour l'humanité leur est révélée, ils devront faire équipe pour maintenir le secret à l'intérieur du gouffre avant qu'il ne soit trop tard.
