00:13The Department of Public Works and Highways, or DPWH, has completed the 206.6-lineal-meter flood control structure
00:22in the Rio Chico River in the area of Barangay Macamias in Gimba, Nueva Ecija.
00:27It was designed to protect the residents and their property,
00:33as well as to ensure the safety and non-affliction of the farmers from the repeated floods.
00:39According to DPWH Nueva Ecija First OIC District Engineer, Jun Vana,
00:45the first phase of the project includes a 79-lineal-meter river wall,
00:51while the second phase includes an additional 127.5-lineal-meter wall.
00:56The structure is built on steel sheet piles and has concrete coping and gabions to ensure its durability.
01:04The Php 47.8 million project was funded under the 2024 National Budget
01:11as part of the increased protection for residents and farmers in the barangay.
