After terrifying incidents of e-scooters catching fire and combusting spontaneously across the globe, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence has issued an advisory to residents.

00:00To avoid the heat of electric bikes, we advise to follow the following.

00:07First, use a reliable charger.

00:09Use the original charger or the one from the manufacturer only.

00:13Avoid unreliable chargers.

00:16Second, charge in a safe place.

00:18Charge the bikes in well-ventilated places and away from the combustible materials.

00:23Do not charge without monitoring.

00:25Third, avoid overcharging.

00:27Make sure not to leave the battery charged for a long time after reaching full charge.

00:33Disconnect the charger as soon as the charge is over.

00:36Be aware, protect your belongings.
