00:02I remember watching the film with my dad,
00:05him referencing the motorbikes and the cars and who he knew from that world.
00:09It had a sort of a blockbuster feel to it but was so iconically Australian.
00:15I remember sitting in the cinema in London watching Free Road
00:19and just coming out of the cinema afterward and kind of like shaking,
00:23you know, the sort of physical effect that it had on me.
00:25My heart was pounding and I was like,
00:26oh my god, it's like midnight and there's no way I'm going to sleep for a couple of hours.
00:30And I was calling my agent back in America and I said,
00:32you've got to get me on a George Miller set, I've got to work with him,
00:35I don't care what it is and what he's doing.
00:37This was the greatest cinema going experience I've had for years
00:40and it made me feel like the same way I did when I went to the cinema as a kid.
00:45You were completely transported to another universe.
00:48What is life like on set?
00:50It's just an incredibly visceral experience, you know,
00:53you know, before you hear, you know, roll cameras, you hear start your engines and
00:58every car and motorbike and truck fires up and so the raw and the physicality that the set offers
01:05right before action is as immersive as anything I've experienced.
01:09George Miller embodies so much intelligence and depth and insight and an abundance of creativity
01:15but is the most kind, nurturing, non-egoic individual you meet.
