00:00Together, some of the most important names in the world of Philippine Basketball

00:05for a summit on the history and culture of the sports in the Philippines.

00:10Details in our next teammate, Rafael Bandaireal.

00:16Inspired by PBA legends, historians, and long-time fans of Filipino basketball,

00:23the history of the favorite sport of Filipinos in the first ever Basketball Balik Tanaw.

00:29Led by the collector, Dr. Michael Rico Messina,

00:33the lectures, discussions, and an exhibit of memorable events from the past will be held.

00:42Among the attendees are the 90s PBA superstars, Vince Hizon, Bong Hawkins,

00:49Jeffrey Carriazo, and the reigning Rookie MVP of the National League, Benji Paras.

00:57It's good giving knowledge to the young ones, to the young basketball players.

01:04There are players coming from other countries who are going to play in college and then go to pro in PBA.

01:16It's better that they know the history of the PBA, how it started, and who are the players.

01:23Also present is the former head coach of the Philippine National Basketball Team, Coach Joe Lipa,

01:28and the current head coach of Gilas Pilipinas Women, Coach Pat Aquino.

01:34I'm just happy that I can contribute, especially for the women's side of basketball,

01:41and also learning from all those speakers, the history about basketball of the Philippines.

01:49There are a lot of kids nowadays who don't know what happened to the Philippine sports after so long a time.

01:57It's nice that this organization works for the working, for us to recall all of the memories,

02:06and to record the history of Philippine basketball.

02:11For the superstars of the past decades, it's heart-warming that they were not forgotten by their fans.

02:20Actually, to all the supporters of the PBA, thank you so much for still continuing to watch and support the PBA,

02:29because we really need you.

02:31And of course, it's true that there's no forever, that your favorite players will be gone.

02:39But there are others who are coming, and I hope you can still support them.

02:45The main event of the Basketball Baliktanaw is a panel discussion,

02:50where the 90s PBA stars discussed the history of their careers.
