00:00I mean, I've been coming so far to be top 30 in the world and almost keep knocking on a door on
00:07the major and world golf. I'm so glad that a lot of, a couple of Asian players be a part of Leaf,
00:14a couple of Asia be a part of European tour, Asian tour, PGA tour. I mean, every tour we,
00:19I think we're strong enough to fight and play against the top players.
00:23To me, Aniban was, we become very close friends and we know each other from like 10 years old
00:31and we playing competitor golf together for so long. I never, never see Aniban in the
00:38competitor's side. He's always, always been my friends and we've been nice to each other.
00:44Hopefully everyone be okay, be fine and save Thailand. We might lose some, but I think the
00:51country is strong enough going up to back walking again. You were the first Thai to
00:57become part of the PGA tour and since then you have played multiple majors and even though you
01:03have come close, but still, if you can recall your journey in the last three, four years,
01:08how it has been for you? Well, yeah. I started playing on the PGA tour in 2014. Like you're
01:16saying, play amount of major world golf events, play decent golf, hang in top 50, top 30 in the
01:23world, five, six years until I hurt my knee on 2019 at the master. That almost really
01:33crossed everything that I've been working so hard. I ended up with lost my tour card on the
01:38PGA tour 2021 and play mainly on DP world tour right now. I mean, I've been coming so far to be
01:48top 30 in the world and almost keep knocking on a door on the major and world golf.
01:55I know it's never been easy. Yeah. Can you also tell me about this dichotomy that has
02:00come to the golf, like live versus, and you had been one of the leading lights in Asia.
02:06So how difficult it was for a player like you to be in caught in the midst, whether to go to the
02:13live or for the DP world tour? I would say as the player size, I would say good for everyone.
02:21For me, I feel you have more event, you have more prize money, more choice for the player to go play.
02:29Um, for me, I doesn't look at the bad way. I think, you know, to have more league or more
02:36companies that coming in this golf games and support, make everything excited. I would say
02:45I grabbed that everyone pushes so hard. Um, I, uh, I mean,
02:54I'm so glad that a lot of, a couple of Asian player be a part of, of leave couple Asia, be a
03:01part of a European tour of Asian to a PGA tour. I mean, every tour we, I think we're strong enough
03:07to fight and play against the top players. Uh, yeah, it's, it's such a good time in the last
03:14few years. And, uh, you must have played with Anirban Lahiri for many, many years, and he happens
03:21to talk about you whenever, whenever he is here for any of the events. So how has been that, uh,
03:28rivalry come friendship that is there? I mean, me and Anirban was, we become really close friends.
03:36And, um, we know each other from like 10 years old and we playing competitive golf together for so
03:43long. Uh, such a nice guys, great gentlemen. Um, I can't say without, I have no doubt that he,
03:54one of the best player in the world. Um, we all walk side by side together in the Korea so far
04:01in last 25 years on tour, he success. And I'm so happy every time I see him. Uh, we was not so far
04:12away, a couple of hours drive from where we live in the state back when we play on a PGA tour. Um,
04:19when he take the deal with Leaf, we negotiate, he negotiate, um, we discuss, I think he do the
04:27right way. Um, I'm so happy for him. Um, you know, I'm glad every time I see him, I never,
04:36never see Anirban in the competitor's side. He's always, always been my friends and
04:43we've been nice to each other. So, um, yeah, I, I wish that we have more player to look in the
04:50same way between me and Anirban. Even we, um, we play in the same event. We growing up in the same
04:55times and we still so close. Do you think that if world ranking points was part of Live, like
05:02somebody like you or Anirban who are one of the most talented of golfers coming out of Asia
05:07would not have had to struggle for getting into the majors? Of course. Big, big. Yeah, of course.
05:14For me, I think like I'm saying, I just so happy to see every tour coming murdered, you know,
05:21joining up. Um, I don't see the point at why Leaf can't get the world ranking. I mean,
05:27from me, I really open. I'm not on the same. I'm on European tour side, PGA tour,
05:32Leaf or Asia. I'm just the players. So whatever I can go play, I'll play. I'm just enjoying my
05:39day as work anywhere. You're not supposed to be blocking every player to go. You can't go there.
05:48You have to play there. I don't think it's sensible. You know, everyone have to, um,
05:53welcome in open arm. That's what I'm thinking. Uh, I know it's a lot of issue behind the table,
06:00but we just, we just the players. So we don't really know what's going on. Um,
06:06for me, I just feel whatever it needs, it helps all the players just do it.
06:13Your monk days, if you can just recall when you had actually followed your tradition,
06:18Thai tradition of becoming a monk, how as a, as a, as a human being, as, as a spiritual person,
06:25how did it affect you? How much, uh, did it give you a push? Uh, because golf is also
06:32somewhere or the other. It is like not getting flinched by the pressure of the wind or the
06:37weather or the nature. And you have to play like that almost like a monk. Yeah. Um,
06:42I think it's a good way. I think you guys under really understand our culture,
06:47India and Thai, almost, it's almost the same thing. You know, um, we pay, we, um, we live in
06:54region. So I wish I can come to India and meditation over here. It more calms. And I
07:02just feel like I'm, I'm being a better, better guy. I'm more calms and growing up guy. Um,
07:10so makes my, my mind, my head more like concentrate in the game more than what I'm
07:19saying. And Indian food. I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I eat some, uh, curry was the best.
07:24Um, I can't ignore it. You know, it was the Asian food everywhere. And this is, uh, which
07:31number of Indian open that you have played? Oh, quite, quite, quite a bit. Um, I know I'm not
07:37really come close to the, um, to win the title. I win one in India, actually my first Asian tour
07:46winning in sale open back in 2010 or 11. So it really opened up my career. So I still have a
07:54good memories with Indian.
08:07I really feel sorry for our country. I have to say, I really want to save, um, uh, everyone
08:13back home. So sad to hear, but it's the nature, nature right now. So we have to do what we have
08:22to do. Um, hopefully everyone be okay, be fine and safe Thailand. Um, it's quite new for us. We
08:32not going to get a lot of earthquake as long as I know, maybe it's the first time that we have it.
08:39Um, we might loss some, but I think the country is strong enough to going up, uh, to back walking
08:46again. And I wish everyone to be strong, stay healthy and, um, get recover fast.
