00:00When I started teaching, there were eight children.
00:04Nowadays, my school has around 800 children,
00:08and my sister was my first student.
00:30When I was a student of class five and a boy of nine years old, 13 years ago, the situation
00:39was worse.
00:41I noticed that some stray children, actually, who are working in the fields, who are working
00:48in the houses, they are in my area.
00:52So after returning from my 10 kilometers far away school, I collected these children and
00:59started teaching in my family backyard.
01:24He told me not to continue this work.
01:27But again I collected these children in a nearby village jungle and doing the same work.
01:33So again my father came to know and he asked a degree college principal that my son is
01:39doing a work.
01:41Can I allow him?
01:43So he told that your son is doing a good work.
01:46If he can do good for others, God will help him.
01:50So thereafter, my father also came to help me.
01:54When I founded Ananda Shikhani Ketan, the village elders were very skeptic to educate
01:59their children, as because they were not educated themselves.
02:04Hence, they used their children as the helping hand for earning.
02:09So when I pursued to the parents to send their children in my school, the first question
02:14I was asked, how education can help who cannot afford two square meals in a day?
02:24To educate girls' children, there was a strong reservation, both societal and religious.
02:37So they thought that if they educate the girls' children, they will not find husbands.
02:44But I left all the criticisms and went ahead with my plans.
02:51And nowadays, in my school, there are 60% girls and 40% boys.
03:21And now, my students, they are going for the higher studies.
03:41We are giving them the completely free education without any kind of help of the West Bengal
03:48or the Indian government.
03:50Actually, the peoples of my country, not only from the West Bengal, also across the country,
03:58they are helping me.
03:59But this is not sufficient.
04:01But I am running the school with a joyful atmosphere.
04:05Education for all is my dream.
04:07But it is the only Babu Ralee, I cannot actualize this long cherished dream.
04:13But if the people like you can come forward to do this kind of work, still now who need
04:20the education, and if we can work together, I hope we will make a better nation for our
04:27future generation.
