00:00Hatred and Anger is the biggest destroyer of scientific nature.
00:30I would like to tell you what is the essence of science and how does one actually start
00:55studying science.
01:01The first most important thing about science is that you have to have an open mind.
01:14Your mind cannot be closed.
01:21That means that you have to listen to other people.
01:30That means you have to respect other people's ideas.
01:37Other people's cultures, other people's religions, other people's languages.
01:44Now there is a fashion these days in the country that you can hate people and at the same time
02:03you can progress scientifically.
02:14This is absolutely and complete nonsense.
02:22The only way you can truly be scientific is if you are open to other people's ideas.
02:41If you are curious, you try to understand why somebody thinks the way they do and it
02:57is a natural thing.
03:04It is the essence of being a human being.
03:12If you go and speak to any child, the smallest child, you will find that he is curious or
03:23she is curious.
03:24They are always looking around, they are trying to figure out the world around them.
03:42You will never find a child who is full of hatred.
04:01Have you ever seen a child who is full of hatred?
04:09But you have seen a curious child?
04:12If you show a child something new, he looks at it, tries to understand it.
04:18So in fact, a child has scientific nature.
04:30And hatred and anger is the biggest destroyer of scientific nature.
04:52So I am confident that many of you young students will use this lab to become successful.
04:59Some of you will run companies.
05:09Others might join politics.
05:14Somebody might become a doctor or a lawyer.
05:21But never let the scientific spirit inside you be killed by anger and hatred.
05:40Respect other people's views.
05:44Appreciate other people.
05:48And that is the foundation of science.
05:54Now a big thank you to the students for inviting me here.
05:58And thank you to you for doing such a good job translating.
