Hello friends, let's talk about voter registration.
00:04
If you are a new voter, how do you register?
00:07
If you have recently changed your city, how do you register?
00:11
If you have some problems with your voter ID card, how do you get it fixed?
00:15
Friends, only 2-3 months are left in the election and this is the right time to get all this done.
00:20
I would like to tell you about all these things in this video.
00:23
Let's see.
00:24
1st January is the qualifying date for voting registration for the year of elections.
00:33
That is, on 1st January 2019, if you were 18 years old before this date, then you qualify.
00:39
But if you are 18 years old after 1st January 2019, then you cannot vote in this election.
00:45
If you are a first time voter, then you will go to the website www.nvsp.in for registration.
00:52
This is the government website, National Voter Service Portal.
00:55
If you scroll down, you will see a form 6.
01:00
Click on that form 6.
01:02
You have to fill this form 6 if you are a new voter and want to register for voting.
01:07
While filling the form, you will have to attach 3 documents.
01:11
1. Scanned copy of your photograph.
01:13
2. Age proof.
01:14
For age proof, you can use your birth certificate, 10th class certificate, passport or driving license.
01:20
3. Address proof.
01:22
For address proof, you can use your electricity bill, telephone bill, passport or driving license.
01:27
After attaching these documents, you can submit this form.
01:31
After submitting, you will get an email on your given email id with a reference number.
01:37
Using that reference number, you can check your application status.
01:41
That how far your application has reached.
01:44
It can take up to a month to accept the application and issue a voter ID card.
01:50
So, now is the right time to do this work because there are only 2-3 months left in the election.
01:55
Next question.
01:56
If something is wrongly printed on your voter ID card,
01:59
Sometimes it happens that people's names are written wrongly,
02:02
People's addresses are not written correctly on the voter ID card.
02:05
If you want to correct these things, then you will go to the same website and fill form 8.
02:10
While filling this form, you will need 3 numbers.
02:13
EPIC Number, Serial Number of Electoral Roll and Part Number of Electoral Roll.
02:18
EPIC Number is Electors Photo Identity Card Number.
02:23
This number is written on the picture of your voter ID card.
02:26
First, there are 3 alphabets in it and then there is a number of 7 digits.
02:31
This is your EPIC Number.
02:33
You can fill this form only when you have got your voter ID card.
02:37
To find the serial number and part number of your electoral roll,
02:41
You will have to go to the website of electoralsearch.in.
02:44
On this website, you will have to find your name from the entire database.
02:48
You can search this through your EPIC number.
02:51
Enter your EPIC number and you will get the remaining 2 numbers from there.
02:55
Fill these 3 numbers in your form 8.
02:58
In form 8, you can write where you have a problem and what has been wrongly filled.
03:04
Again, it can take up to a month.
03:07
So, now is the right time to do this.
03:09
Now the question is, what will happen if you move from one city to another?
03:13
What will happen if you change your constituency?
03:16
The rule says that you can register from only one constituency.
03:20
Your name can come in only one electoral roll.
03:22
When you move to a new city,
03:24
The day you move to a new address,
03:26
You can register for a new address on a new voter ID.
03:30
At the same time, you will have to cancel the old one.
03:33
Now, use form 7 to delete your old voter registration.
03:38
Friends, this form 7 is used for any type of deletion.
03:42
In the column of reasons, you will write shifted.
03:47
If you are shifting from one constituency to another.
03:50
But you can still use this form 7,
03:53
If someone you know has expired,
03:55
If someone you know is missing,
03:57
If someone is not qualified,
03:58
You can use form 7 for that too.
04:00
Or if there is a duplicate record.
04:02
To remove the name from all their electoral rolls,
04:05
This form 7 is used.
04:08
And the new constituency you are moving into,
04:10
You will have to fill in form 6 again.
04:13
From that new address.
04:15
And then what you have to do is,
04:16
If any of your registration application is rejected,
04:19
You fill in all the eligibility criteria,
04:22
But still your application is rejected.
04:25
Then you will use the Grebians Redressal Portal.
04:29
This portal is on the Election Commission website.
04:32
You can see it here.
04:33
If you click on this link,
04:35
You can submit your complaint regarding any issue.
04:39
This is especially used if your application is rejected.
04:42
And if you want to do all this offline,
04:45
I won't recommend doing it offline.
04:47
Because it is easier to do it online.
04:49
You can download, print and mail the form offline.
04:54
You will have to mail it to your nearest election branch.
04:57
And even if you don't want to download this form,
05:00
If you don't have internet,
05:01
Although you might not be watching this video,
05:04
But if you know someone who doesn't have internet access,
05:08
Then you can get all these forms,
05:10
Form 6, 7, 8,
05:11
At any voter registration centre.
05:14
And if you are in any service,
05:16
If you are in the armed forces,
05:17
BSF, CISF,
05:18
Or if you work in the Indian government,
05:20
Or if you work in the Indian police force,
05:23
Then there is service voting for you.
05:26
Service voting is a little different.
05:28
There is a separate portal for service voting.
05:30
You can go to this website,
05:33
You can go to the service portal,
05:35
You can register here,
05:37
You can file a complaint,
05:38
And you can see your names here.
05:40
I hope you found this video helpful.
05:43
All the links are available in the description.
05:46
Share this video with as many people as possible.
05:49
So that more people can register for voting.
05:52
So that more people can register for voting.

05:58
And I would like to say again,
06:00
This is the right time to register for voting.
06:02
Because elections are very near.
06:04
And as I said,
06:05
It can take up to a month to register.
