Transcript
00:00Ouch!
00:18I was four when I did Vastu Shastra. I was six when I did Kabhi Adho Raag.
01:00There are so many amazing roles that I never thought I would do.
01:03Shivangi, Richa, Tanvi and Akanksha.
01:07These are the characters that I dearly love.
01:10And also the sketches that I have been doing.
01:14Every sketch comes with a different kind of role.
01:17The comedy genre I had never explored.
01:22So I am able to also do that at the same time.
01:31It was for an ad. The ad being for an insurance company.
01:35And so the ad was basically about a little boy who is getting his mundan done.
01:41And he is running all around the house because he doesn't want to chop off his hair.
01:45And the family is just chasing him everywhere.
01:48And which is why in the end of the ad they finally get him and they get the mundan done.
01:56Which is why I had to completely shave my head.
02:00Which is why I had a boy card for the longest time.
02:04I did Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna which was a humongous star cast.
02:07So I got to work with Shahrukh Khan, Preeti Zinta, Rani Mukherjee, Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan.
02:14And that was a huge deal for me and I feel very very lucky.
02:17I spent about two months in New York with them.
02:20And we were in the same hotel so we used to bump into each other almost all the time.
02:25And most of my scenes were with Shahrukh Khan and Preeti Zinta.
02:29So I remember spending a lot of time with them.
02:31And Shahrukh sir was a complete delight to work with.
02:35He is so sweet and I was anyway the most pampered child on set.
02:42I used to get a lot of attention.
02:47So I used to make a lot of greeting cards for somebody I was very fond of.
02:51And I remember making a lot of greeting cards for Shahrukh sir and giving it to him.
02:56And there was this one scene where it was a very challenging scene.
03:02It was a football scene and I gave that shot and everybody started clapping for me.
03:07And it was Diwali then so my mom was like, now it's our Diwali.
03:22But during Vastu Shastra there are some memories that I still have.
03:26And especially with her that she taught me a lot of things.
03:31She taught me a lot of kinds of kisses.
03:34So there was this butterfly kiss where you just rub your eyelashes on somebody.
03:40That's a butterfly kiss.
03:42Then there's a fish kiss.
03:43These little really cute things.
03:45I remember going to her house.
03:52So I had short hair for a very long time.
03:55And the first film audition that I got was Vastu Shastra.
04:00And I auditioned for the film.
04:02And the director really really liked my audition.
04:04But again he wanted a boy for the part.
04:07The whole plot of the film was this little boy can see ghosts and nobody believes him.
04:14And that's when they asked my mom if she was willing to let me play a boy in the film.
04:23And I don't remember exactly because I'm too young to remember.
04:29But we still have conversations and she says that they really convinced her.
04:37And at the end of the day she said that it was okay for me to play a boy since I was so young.
04:43And I was very keen on doing it because I loved acting.
04:49And I really wanted to act.
04:50And I really wanted to do the film.
04:52So I was very keen on doing it.
05:00I think it changes a lot.
05:01And it has literally crafted me into the person I am today.
05:06It's crafted my acting skills, everything that I do right now.
05:11It has helped me a lot.
05:12I think I grew up acting which is why I grew up learning about the thing that I love the most.
05:18And I grew up doing what I love and it became my passion.
05:25And I think it really helps you as an actor.
05:29So I think exposure as a child actor has also helped me.
05:32And I also feel that people have seen me grow.
05:37They've seen me grow as an actor also.
05:39So they know me as an actor.
05:46I was 7 years old when my mom decided that I have to stop playing a boy in films.
05:51I need to start playing myself.
05:53And which is why my first film was Poonk as a girl.
05:58So yeah, that was also amazing.
06:02And the first film I did as a girl was also very challenging.
06:05I had to play a possessed girl in it.
06:12My mom always made sure that I'm not missing out on anything that a child my age would.
06:18So yeah, I used to go to school.
06:20I used to go to all these classes which is why I needed time for that also.
06:24And I didn't do much of TV.
06:26So anything that I also did on TV was either a cameo or a 1 or 2 episode show.
06:32Once I was 15 years old, I had my 10th boards.
06:35And I took like a 6 months break from everything.
06:38And I just concentrated on my studies and I gave my board exams.
06:42After that, I was also again planning to take a longer break.
06:47But I got this audition for a TVF video and I went for it.
06:57My passion has always been to become a Bollywood heroine.
07:02And it still is.
07:04I want to get into Bollywood.
07:06I want to be launched in Bollywood.
07:08And I do want to do films.
