00:00to go through these quarantine periods, you know, have injuries, multiple injuries, right through the toe, to be
00:08you know, bowled out for 36, India's lowest score, and then to come back from there
00:14and play like, you know, absolute champions is unreal.
00:30I got emotional, you know, I'm not someone who generally has tears in my eyes, but I had
00:35absolute, some real tears in my eyes, because this is unreal. You know, what these guys have
00:40pulled off is, you know, will go down in history as, you know, one of the greatest series ever played.
00:47And when you look at the, you know, the COVID situation and the spate of injuries and, you know,
00:54all those things, when you take it into account, and then to show the stomach for a fight
01:00after being bowled out for 36 is unimaginable.
01:04Yeah, I was emotional too. I mean, I still don't know what happened and still don't know how to
01:27describe this victory, series victory, but credit to each and every individual. If you see after,
01:32especially after Adelaide test match, everyone contributed. Guys who actually came into team,
01:37they all contributed. Credit to all the newcomers who actually shipped in. Rishabh,
01:44Nattu played his first test match, bowled so well. Charul Thakur played his second test match,
01:48contributed with the bat and ball. Washington Sundar batted really well, bowled well in first
01:54innings. Pujara's contribution, I think everyone's contribution. Ashwin bowled well throughout the
01:59series. Unfortunately, got injured in the third test match. But yeah, I was really emotional.
02:10I think right from the very beginning, you know, we had a chat, Jinx, myself, the support staff,
02:16and we said, let's play normal cricket. You know, just play your natural game. Don't try and
02:21manufacture something. You know, try and set the game up more than anything else. Take it session
02:26by session. And then if you get an opportunity towards the end, and if you have wickets in hand,
02:31then you can think, you know, about going for it. But the innings Gil played really set the
02:37platform and the tone because it was outstanding innings for someone on his first tour of Australia
02:42on a bouncy Gabba track to take on the attack like the way he did. You know, he got the momentum
02:49going. And then there was, you know, Rishabh Pant. You can't change his style of play. In his
02:54mind, he was always chasing that one thing. You know, he kept looking at the scoreboard. You knew
03:00he had some other ideas. When you look at the circumstances that this team came to Australia,
03:10you know, being in lockdown for four months, where a lot of people living in metros couldn't
03:15even get out of their flats, leave alone having an opportunity to train, then to go to the IPL.
03:21And someone like Jasprit Bumrah, because of Mumbai winning, he's bowled 64 overs. That's it.
03:28None of the other guys have got a proper hit in the middle. Then to come here and take on Australia
03:34in their own backyard, where the world knows how tough it is. And then to go through these
03:40quarantine periods, you know, have injuries, multiple injuries right through the tour, to be,
03:45you know, bowled out for 36. India's lowest score. And then to come back from there and play
03:54like, you know, absolute champions is unreal. I mean, the penny has still not dropped and it will
03:59take a long time to drop. But, you know, unreal. What I've seen unreal, unimaginable,
04:07you know, simply superb. Especially the resolve and the character the boys have shown right through.
