After a string of controversies, the UK has finally allowed Indians fully vaccinated with Covishield to skip quarantine on arrival.

01:19So it will be easier and cheaper to enter the UK.
01:22This is great news.
01:24We have been actually open for Indian travellers for months.
01:28We've been issuing thousands of visas to students,
01:31to business travellers, to tourists.
01:34And it's the product of excellent discussions with the Indian authorities.
01:39Some of the noise about this issue over the last few weeks
01:42just shows how keen people are to travel to the UK
01:45and I'm delighted by that.
01:47So let's now go further.
01:49Let's open up more flights between the two countries.
01:52Let's get British tourists able to come into India.
01:55They're desperate to do so.
01:57States business travellers are trying to come into India with e-visas.
02:01This is a further step down the road
02:03set by Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Johnson
02:06when they agreed the comprehensive strategic partnership
02:09between our two countries in May.
