00:00Hi, I am Rima Das from Brut.
00:30When I was in Mumbai, I didn't like, I only like, it's very tough for me to speak in English
00:50and Hindi.
00:51When I was in Assam, I kind of, I used to be best actress, mostly in my college, then schools.
01:00But when I was in Mumbai, it was a kind of a pressure, you know, to be perfect and to be trained.
01:22I decided to go my own and I bought a camera, Canon 5D Mark II, then started experimenting, was making short films.
01:34And that time also, because it was so strong that I wanted to be an actor, I actually did a small role.
01:58But when I finished the film, something changed inside me and I think I found a strong calling for direction.
02:28It's inspiring to see how with fake instruments, these children, they were performing in a local gathering, local function.
02:50And they knew, they are aware about it, that they cannot buy real instruments, but they are not kind of, there is no bitterness.
03:07You know, they are aware but not cursing their destiny. But with fake instruments also, they were actually performing like rock stars.
03:20I was so conscious in Mumbai. So I tried to not make them conscious. So our training was under the sky and there was no pressure such because there was no crew.
03:48So I was the only one to decide everything. So I took time and I become one of them and I was looking for acting job and when I did audition, so I realized that some lines are very tough to deliver.
04:10So I tried to use very simple lines so that they feel comfortable.
04:19I never thought to give up, but it was hard, it was really hard. But when you really want to do something and it just happens.
04:49Sometimes I think the realistic depiction of life and because most of us very much influenced by Bollywood films, but we are very hopeful.
