00:00To win a medal for the country, there can be nothing bigger than that.

00:17When you stand in the podium and you see the tricolour going up and you feel the chills

00:24in your body.

00:33It has been a dream come true.

00:35Growing up, when we were in school and college, I never thought life would take me so far

00:40in my life.

00:47There is a time and place for everything and I take my job extremely seriously.

00:58Normally, my training schedules are in late nights or in early mornings.

01:07It all depends on how passionately we pursue the things that we do and with what discipline

01:14we follow the regimen that we set for ourselves.

01:27In 2005, I had a tragic incident in my family.

01:31I lost my father.

01:32When I lost my father, I decided to pursue what I wanted to do in my life and what he

01:38would also be proud of.

01:40That is being a civil servant, being amongst the people and trying to do my bit for society.

02:10Initially, I was reluctant.

02:15In the first championship in Beijing, Asian Championship, I won the gold medal.

02:21So I think that was the turning point.

02:39I think the mental qualities of both facets are similar, whether in administration or

02:46in sports.

02:47One, you need discipline and second, perseverance and third, you should be passionate about

02:57doing that.

02:58And it's okay if you fail, it's okay, but then invariably, if you have that fearless

03:08approach, invariably, one will succeed.
