00:32The accused was sent to 14-day judicial custody but walked out the very next day on a Rs 15,000

00:39But who is Rahul Kanal?

00:41Rahul Kanal is a social activist turned politician.

00:44He was once a close aide of Aditya Thackeray, working as the social media in-charge for

00:48Shiv Sena UBT.

00:50But in 2023, he switched sides, joining the Eknath Shinde faction and becoming General

00:55Secretary of UASENAV.

00:57He wears many hats.

00:58He is the president of the I Love Mumbai Foundation, trustee of the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust,

01:03a member of the Education Committee at MCGM, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.

01:08He also owns Bhai Jaans, a restaurant named after Bollywood star Salman Khan.

01:13But Kanal's career isn't just about politics and philanthropy.

01:17It's also filled with controversy.

01:19In 2022, his premises were raided by the Income Tax Department over an alleged Hawala racket

01:24linked to Shiv Sena leader Yashwant Jadhav.

01:27In 2020, his name surfaced in the Disha Salyan and Sushant Singh Rajput case when BJP MLA

01:33Nitesh Rane accused Aditya Thackeray and his aides of being involved.

01:37Kanal hit back, calling the allegations baseless.

01:40And now, he's back in the headlines, this time for allegedly leading an attack on a

01:44comedian.
